Every Monday, we kick the week off with looking at the ten best games across the state with a breakdown on each! And because we can't follow our own rules, we might have a few more games to look out for each week. This week is another example of that. After taking down #2 Bishop McGuinness last week, top-ranked Carl Albert now focuses on a rivalry game with #3 Del City Friday night. Carl Albert brings their 56-game winning streak into another game against a very talented 5A opponent. Del City has been outstanding so far through their first two games but there's no doubt that they will be challenged more this week than in the last two weeks combined. It wouldn't be surprising to see this be the first of two match-ups between these two teams. Both squads come into this week as top three teams in Class 5A and both teams have state championship aspirations. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/muskogee-vs-choctaw-september-18-2026/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/muskogee-vs-choctaw-september-18-2026/">CHOCTAW (1-2) AT MUSKOGEE (3-0)</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's the best game in Class 6A-2 this week and one of the best in the state as #2 Choctaw travels to face #6 Muskogee Friday night. It's a rematch of the 2024 state championship game and it's also going to tell us a lot about both teams moving forward. Choctaw got their first win of the season last week when they came to Tulsa and ran away from Union in the second half with a dominant victory. This will also be Choctaw's first game against a 6A-2 opponent after playing 6A-1 competition. For Muskogee, we can't wait to see what the Roughers do in this one because they have been very entertaining through the first three weeks. The Roughers are also playing their first game against a 6A-2 opponent in this match-up. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/cache-vs-elgin-september-18-2026/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/cache-vs-elgin-september-18-2026/">ELGIN (3-0) AT CACHE (3-0)</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Down in southwestern Oklahoma, we're going to find out just how serious Cache is as a 4A contender when they host powerhouse Elgin on Friday night. Cache is off to a 3-0 start and they have one of the hottest 2028 prospects in the state. They are getting more and more eyes on their program but there's no doubt that the competition gets ratcheted up when they host Elgin on Friday night. The Owls are coming into this game with a ton of momentum after beating Tuttle last week in a rematch of the last two 4A state championship games. Elgin also hasn't lost a regular season game since 2022 and they're not planning on starting anytime soon. This is going to be the ultimate measuring stick game for Cache. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/booker-t-washington-vs-macarthur-september-18-2026/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/booker-t-washington-vs-macarthur-september-18-2026/">LAWTON MACARTHUR (1-2) AT BOOKER T WASHINGTON (2-1)</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lawton MacArthur makes a rare trip to Tulsa to face Booker T Washington on Friday night. The Highlanders are coming off a close rivalry loss to Lawton but they are slowly but surely getting reinforcements. They lost their star running back in the season opener but he returned last week against the Wolverines. They'll need him if they are going to get a win against a very tough Hornet team. Booker T Washington has been on a roll to start the season. The only loss was a road loss to Carl Albert in week one. They beat Putnam City by ten points last week and they'll rely on a strong defensive front to slow down Lawton MacArthur's ground game. This feels like an old school 5A showdown that we saw decades ago.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/holland-hall-vs-metro-christian-september-18-2026/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/holland-hall-vs-metro-christian-september-18-2026/">METRO CHRISTIAN (1-1) AT HOLLAND HALL (1-1)</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's Class 3A taking on 2A-1 here as Metro Christian makes the trip over to Holland Hall on Friday night. Both teams are coming off very different week twos. Holland Hall had the week off after bouncing back from a week zero loss by beating Victory Christian in week one. The Dutch are going to be a team that continues to get better throughout the season and make some noise in Class 2A-1. For Metro Christian, the Patriots are going to be ready to get back on the field after being shut out against Cascia Hall last week. The Patriots opened the season with a big win over 4A's Poteau but then fell to the Commandos after a week one bye. Both teams are knocking on the door of being top five squads in their respective class.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/charles-page-vs-owasso-september-18-2026/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/charles-page-vs-owasso-september-18-2026/">OWASSO (0-2) AT SAND SPRINGS (1-2)</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We're going to see two very hungry teams squaring off Friday night when Sand Springs hosts Owasso. They have a combined 1-4 record between the two after playing a very challenging schedule. Owasso's two losses are to the top two-ranked teams in 6A-1. The Rams have taken care of business against Sand Springs in the past but they will be facing a Sandite team that is equally as hungry to get back into the win column. The Sandites are the defending 6A-2 champions and like we've seen the last few years, they tested themselves against a very competitive non-district schedule. The Sandites are wrapping up non-district play right here as they'll have the next two weeks off to prepare for the district schedule. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/rejoice-christian-vs-perkins-tryon-september-18-2026/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/rejoice-christian-vs-perkins-tryon-september-18-2026/">PERKINS-TRYON (1-1) AT REJOICE CHRISTIAN (0-2) </a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's an intriguing match-up here as Perkins-Tryon will come to the Tulsa area to square off with Rejoice Christian. The Demons made it a point to schedule championship-quality competition on their non-district schedule. They opened the season with a tough loss to 2A-1 powerhouse Washington but bounced back last week with a huge rivalry win over Cushing. Now, they face off with a Rejoice Christian team that is coming off back to back state championships in Class A-1. The Eagles have stumbled out of the gate with back to back losses but they've also had a week off to regroup and prepare for Friday night's showdown. And there's also no doubt that Rejoice comes into Friday's game with championship pedigree. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/norman-north-vs-piedmont-september-18-2026/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/norman-north-vs-piedmont-september-18-2026/">PIEDMONT (1-1) AT NORMAN NORTH (2-0)</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>6A-1 VS 6A-2 happens here as Norman North will host Piedmont on Friday night. The Timberwolves have jumped out to a 2-0 start by beating up on 6A-2 competition, including the defending champion last week and they'll look to continue that on Friday night with Piedmont. The Norman North offense has been outstanding so far this season and the defense is playing with a lot of momentum. They'll look to continue that momentum when they face off with Piedmont. The Wildcats will look to put Norman North's defense in a blender with their flexbone offense. Piedmont dropped their season opener in week zero but bounced back in week one and had last week off to prepare for Friday's showdown with Norman North. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/davis-vs-plainview-september-18-2026/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/davis-vs-plainview-september-18-2026/">PLAINVIEW (1-1) AT DAVIS (1-1)</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We're headed back to Murray County on Friday night as Davis hosts Plainview and both teams are going to be hungry to get back in the win column. The Wolves lost Murray County Bedlam to rival Sulphur on Friday night and are looking to bounce back with a big win over Plainview before entering district play. On the other side, you have a Plainview team that was just shut out against Holdenville, which might be the top contender, along with Davis for the 2A-2 crown. Plainview has some serious talent in their younger classes while Davis is a very experienced and senior-led team. Both of these teams are going to be contenders in their district but the winner here will get a little momentum moving forward.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/chandler-vs-stroud-september-18-2026/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepredzone.com/game/ok/chandler-vs-stroud-september-18-2026/">STROUD (1-1) AT CHANDLER (1-1)</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a big game in Classes 2A-1 and 2A-2 as Chandler hosts Stroud on Friday night. Both teams have gotten off to 1-1 starts, facing tough competition in their non-district slates. This will be an opportunity for one team to get a big win and take momentum into district play. Stroud bounced back from a loss to Pawhuska by shutting out Okemah. Their playmakers got loose and the Tigers rolled to a 40-0 win. Stroud is still one of those teams in Class 2A-2 to keep an eye on in district play. The same can be said about Chandler, as the Lions also bounced back from a season-opening loss by beating Prague 46-7. Norman looks to bounce back from a tough loss to Mustang when they go on the road to take on Ponca City. A-1's Pawhuska is going on the road to face A-2's Woodland. The Huskies are 3-0 on the season and have a ton of momentum after big wins over Hominy and Stroud. The Owls are looking to pick up some momentum after a 1-1 start. The Pioneers are looking to get back in the win column after losing to Bixby two weeks ago.
