The Result Many Didn’t Expect: Edna Karr vs. Ruston

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Edna Karr vs. Ruston game is one that many were excited for ahead of kickoff, as this was a battle between almost everyone's No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the state of Louisiana. Those two teams were the major powerhouses of the game, as Ruston took on Edna Karr in what was one of the best games of the entire slate of games this past weekend. One could argue that this game was the most anticipated matchup in the entire nation, and it was by far the most popular game in the state of Louisiana.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While Ruston (ranked No.1) was the team that I predicted to win the game, the exact opposite would take place. In fact, Edna Karr was the team that won the game, as they defeated Ruston by a score of 21-14, which showcases the somewhat low-scoring game, along with the intense atmosphere.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The star for Ruston in this game wasn't who many might have predicted, which was [player_tooltip player_id='469439' first='Ahmad' last='Hudson'], but local reporters made it very clear that [player_tooltip player_id='1845257' first='Dalen' last='Powell'], the running back for the talented high school program, would be the player to make the headlines on that side of the coin. He finished the game with both of the scores for Ruston, including one of his touchdowns being over 70 yards on a rush. I do believe he is one of the better backs in the entire state, and it showed in his ability to finish in the end zone. He wasn't exactly a one-man show, but it was quite close, as he is someone who can take over in an instant, and one could argue that he isn't only the best running back in his state, but one could argue that he is the best running back in the entire nation.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As for Edna Karr, their effort was more of a team-based situation, and they were great in their effort to win this game. They proved that they truly deserve to be considered the best team in the entire state, as this team can keep a lead, even when they play against the best team in the entire state. However, I doubt that I will come to the conclusion that Ruston will be very far in the upcoming rankings, as they did a great job fighting back, and at the end of the day, they lost to the only team that seems to be on their level at the moment. This was truly a coin-flip game that anyone could win on any given day.
