Rising Underclassmen QB Prospects Around the Bluegrass

Boone looks like a throwback QB who lines up under center and whose success is predicated on how well he sells the play action. When he gets defenders to bite, he does a good job of leading his receiver down the field with strong, accurate throws. Boone can also take off and beat defenders with his legs when he's scrambling, running a bootleg, or running a designed run. Steward can call his own number up the middle and run over a defender, but he can also beat defenders with his legs along the edge. He's just as impressive throwing the football. Steward leads his receivers well in man coverage, putting the ball in a spot where only his receiver can catch it. He possesses the ability to fire the ball out quickly and has great command of his offense. The South Laurel sophomore has thrown for 1,097 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions through six games. His best game so far this season came earlier this month during a 55-8 win over Whitley County. He completed 19-of-22 passes for 326 yards as the Cardinals rolled to victory. Warren seems very comfortable in the pocket and has a big arm to help push the ball deep down the field. He earned the varsity job for the Raiders this season and so far has not disappointed. Wilson is very comfortable throwing on the run and off-balance. I would like to see him step up into the pocket more instead of immediately flushing himself out, but McCreary Central has played to his strengths this season, which is why they're off to a 4-2 start. He already has good size for the position, and his arm strength and mechanics are developing well. He has already demonstrated his ability to take the top off the defense with deep throws down the seam. However, Grebner can also fit the ball into tight windows to his receivers on short and middle-level passes. Grebner has already visited Murray State's campus, so he's already got some next-level interest.
