Week 2 Look Ahead: New Mexico Against The World

More than a dozen teams from the Land of Enchantment are scheduled to play out-of-state opponents Friday and Saturday. Is that a record? Possibly. Key to the win was Carlsbad's success in shutting down Artesia's running game and making the Tigers one-dimensional on offense. Artesia gained just 48 yards on 20 rushing attempts, an average of just 2.4 yards per attempt. Overall, Artesia had less than 200 yards in total offense.
