The pair competed against each other in the South-Central Conference. Moaliitele finished with 20 tackles as a sophomore and should be one of the best defenders in the league.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2104342' first='Tavian' last='Williams'] of Mountainside is more of an OLB, but earned 3^rd team all-Metro D line honors last year, and will be one of the best defensive athletes in the conference as a junior. Don't sleep on [player_tooltip player_id='2148452' first='Grifinn' last='Cheney'] out of 4A Marist. He's a big, athletic kid who can move at 6-2 235 pounds, and could be one of the best in the state at his classification level. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Speaking on the LB's, there is a host of ranked and talented kids in the 2028 class. [player_tooltip player_id='2067926' first='Ryder' last='VanDeweghe'] was key for Silverton in their 5A title run finishing as an honorable mention all-state backer. At 6-2 215 pounds Finnley Currington out of Churchill is another 5A standout who might project to a higher level with his size. He finished with 40+ tackles and 3 TFL's in 2025.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2105964' first='Josiah' last='Senados'] is an LB out of West Salem who most don't know about yet, but he had a phenomenal sophomore year at the 6A level making 63 tackles with 4 TFL's and 2 TDs. [player_tooltip player_id='2109161' first='Lucas' last='Geaslin'] will be one of the top returning players in the Intermounatin Conference. He finished last year with 60 tackles, which was good for the #5 spot in the league as a sophomore, during Ridgeview's impressive (7-3) season.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2105970' first='Jayden' last='Wallace'] of Sherwood and [player_tooltip player_id='2109808' first='Brock' last='Taylor'] of Wilsonville are two other LB's who could also contribute heavily running the ball. Wallace was a 2^nd&nbsp;team all-league selection on both sides of the football with Taylor making 32 tackles with 3.5 sacks while averaging 17 yards per carry on 13 rushes. [player_tooltip player_id='1612600' first='Rowen' last='Peterson'] out of Willamette is another kid to keep an eye on with the Wolverines being a 6A contender. Look for him to put up some decent stats this coming season.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There are a bunch of intriguing defensive backs in the 28' class. 6-3 DB [player_tooltip player_id='1630298' first='Elijah' last='Wortz'] of Sandy is another super impressive athlete that has size and could do some things for the Pio's. [player_tooltip player_id='2105973' first='Jalen' last='Crichton'] projects at Safety and had a few breakout performances for Nelson last year. He could be a difference maker on offense as well.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2106043' first='Quinn' last='Piquette'] of Thurston has 1^st&nbsp;team all-state potential at DB this coming season. He has elite speed and could potentially climb the rankings board quickly. [player_tooltip player_id='1751515' first='DuShawn' last='Stephens'] is a kid we've talked about at length before, being one of Oregon's best at the 4A level. He had 22 tackles with 9 PBU's and was also one of the state's top return men. Offensively, he caught 25 passes for 305 yards and 5 Tds.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2106058' first='Cal' last='Johnson'] of 3A Vale and [player_tooltip player_id='2054811' first='Isaac' last='Conner'] of 6A Mountainside are two other names to remember. Johnson will project as a state POY candidate on both sides of the football with Conner being one of the top junior's in the Metro League.
