Senior Prospects to Watch in Week 0

Frazier uses terrific hand placement to drive defenders away from the ball carrier. He is a powerful offensive lineman with good speed out of the stance. Frazier has no trouble opening up rushing lanes and helping keep his quarterback clean in terms of pass blocking. Gaines does a great job of reading the play. He puts himself in a position to bring down the ball carrier. Meanwhile, he has the speed to drop back into pass coverage. Gaines is a player to watch on the defensive side of the ball when Searcy takes on Batesville to start the season this week.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1219884' first='Jakobe' last='Boone']-Running Back/Wide Receiver-Jacksonville-5'9” 167-Pounds</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1219884' first='Jakobe' last='Boone'] is a versatile player who can line up at the running back spot or be split out wide at the receiver position. Boone is a patient running back who allows the lanes to develop before exploding through the hole. Meanwhile, at receiver he is a nightmare to bring down in the open field. He has tremendous speed. The Arkansas Tech commit has the potential to have a big game against Watson Chapel this week.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1158062' first='Josiah' last='Steen']-Wide Receiver-Warren-5'9” 167-Pounds</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1158062' first='Josiah' last='Steen'] had a tremendous 2025 season and the potential is in place for another big season for the Lumberjacks. The combination of sharp route running mixed with impressive is a matchup problem for opposing defensive backs. He can carve up opposing secondaries on short and intermediate routes. Meanwhile, he is a threat to take it the distance from anywhere on the field. Warren takes on Malvern this week in what has the potential to be a great game to open the season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1223230' first='Cason' last='Roten']-Linebacker-Elkins-5'11” 215-Pounds</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1223230' first='Cason' last='Roten'] is another prospect on the defensive side of the ball who could have an impressive start to the season. He has great speed from the linebacker spot. Roten gets into the opposing offensive backfield with impressive consistency. Meanwhile, he has the ability to drop back into pass coverage to disrupt the passing attack. Elkins starts defense of a state championship this week opening on the road against Pea Ridge.
