Poll results: Jack Fournier, Jack Christiansen, PJ Tautu win big

We asked high school football fans in the Pacific Northwest to highlight Washington and Oregon's biggest risers and who could make another leap in our rankings and you responded with thousands of votes.   More than 15,000 votes were cast across three polls highlighting Pacific Northwest performers and we wanted to circle back and highlight those athletes.   Here's who you voted for as players who deserve the spotlight.    “Which recent riser is most likely to make another big leap?”   In our updated rankings, Jordan Johnson highlighted a collection of players who were either new to the rankings completely or had made a major leap.   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/07/july-rankings-update-who-was-added-to-our-washington-2027-list/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepredzone.com/2026/07/july-rankings-update-who-was-added-to-our-washington-2027-list/">July Rankings Update: Who was added to our Washington 2027 list?</a></li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/07/july-rankings-update-who-moved-up-the-rankings-in-washingtons-2027-class-2/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepredzone.com/2026/07/july-rankings-update-who-moved-up-the-rankings-in-washingtons-2027-class-2/">July Rankings Update: Who moved up the rankings in Washington's 2027 class?</a></li> </ul>   But we wanted to know who you thought might make yet another jump this fall.   The winner?   Eatonville's [player_tooltip player_id='1727692' first='Jacob' last='Simons'] with 2,114 votes, more than 1,000 more than any other competitor.   The 6-foot-2, 215-pound athlete lines up at wide receiver, linebacker and defensive back, and was a first-team all-league selection as a pass-catcher as well as the team captain.    Simons is one of the best all-around playmakers in the state, and could end up being an all-league selection on both sides of the ball this year after emerging as a breakout wide receiver last year.    Expect Simons to connect with quarterback Cole Fowler for a monster season.   The FSP standout committed to Eastern Washington in June, and he may wind up being a steal.   It would not be a surprise to see the fans being right about this one.   We're keeping a close eye on Simons.   Orting running back [player_tooltip player_id='1188121' first='Shiron' last='Seniours'] (843 votes) came in second with a large support group.   The 5-foot-8, 185-pound ball-carrier isn't the biggest playmaker in the state, but don't let that fool you.   He's as dangerous as they come with the ball in his hands.   As a junior, Seniours accumulated 1,600 all-purpose yards and 18 touchdowns, leading the state in return yards.   As his role expands, a 2,000-yard-type season is not out of the question.   If that happens, the fans may once again be right that he's a player who could make yet another leap in our rankings before Signing Day.    Puyallup athlete [player_tooltip player_id='1605386' first='Luke' last='Parker'] (450 votes) came in third, but is also a compelling candidate to make a jump.   The reigning Washington 4A SPSL athlete of the year racked up 1,638 yards and 20 touchdowns on offense with 43 tackles, 8.5 tackles-for-loss and 2 sacks while playing in eight games (most of which were blowouts where he didn't finish).   Parker is hands-down one of the most explosive athletes in the state and will attempt to be a back-to-back SPSL player of the year.   That's a tough resume to tear down. Already our No. 1 prospect in the class of 2028, Tautu experienced a breakout - not to his stock - but to his recruitment.   Still waiting for his first Power 4 offer this time last year, the 6-foot-4, 265-pound edge-rusher finally saw his recruiting stock reach his production.   Since the start of May, Tautu has picked up offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, BYU, Northwestern, Utah, Washington and others.   I'd say that's a pretty sizable breakout.   He will be among the favorites for Oregon 6A Defensive Player of the Year this fall.    Mountainside-to-Tualatin transfer [player_tooltip player_id='937240' first='Isaiah' last='Ormond'] was second with 743 votes.   The 6-foot-2, 300-pound interior defensive lineman drew high praise for Jordan Johnson during the season last year, but the rankings hadn't caught up.   Johnson's prediction? Ormond will be the No. 1 iDL prospect in Oregon for 2027 by the end of camp season.   After a stellar showing at The Northwest Showcase, JJ was proved correct.   Ormond was a dominant force in one-on-one situations and will require double teams by most opponents in the Three Rivers League to keep him at bay.   He is committed to Eastern Washington, but it wouldn't be at all surprising to see FBS programs reach out.   Ormond is due for a huge senior season.   Mountainside running back [player_tooltip player_id='1125493' first='Reece' last='Ballew'] (644 votes) missed all of last year with an injury, but showed flashes as a sophomore.   He was a two-time camp MVP this off-season and posted a 10.76 100-meter time.   The track and field star should put together monster numbers in the Metro League this season, assuming he can stay healthy.   Get your popcorn ready?    Dallas linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1878396' first='Aidan' last='Galusha'] (497 votes) is a hybrid linebacker/safety who played some defensive line last fall.   Galusha went from being an intriguing small school guy to a Division I-caliber prospect for me (FCS level).   A big senior campaign should lead to Big Sky offers.    Central Catholic's Kai Peau (289 votes) was a known commodity, but after a standout performance at a camp, he earned an Oregon State offer.   That scholarship officially marked him as an FBS prospect, which is a major win for the talented lineman.    Our first poll of the season proved to be a major battle - and a learning experience.   We didn't put an “end date” on our first poll and paid for it, as supporters went head-to-head for more than a week for their guy to win, “Who should be biggest risers in Washington's 2027 class rankings?”   With more than 9,000 total votes cast, Camas edge-rusher [player_tooltip player_id='1691682' first='Jack' last='Fournier'] and Ferris athlete [player_tooltip player_id='1743631' first='Jack' last='Christiansen'] proved they are both worry of the award.    Fournier collected 55 tackles, 9 sacks, 3 tackles-for-loss and 22 quarterback hurries last year before transferring to Camas this offseason.   The 6-foot-4, 240-pound athlete proved to be a high-motor force at The Northwest Showcase and looked like he was due for a massive season this fall.   So far, Fournier's recruitment hasn't quite reached what we see on tape.   I think he could climb another tier with a big senior campaign.    Once again, Jordan Johnson was high on Ferris athlete [player_tooltip player_id='1743631' first='Jack' last='Christiansen'] before he was a known commodity.    He's looking smart now.   The talented tight end/defensive end has picked up a couple of small school offers and earned a positional MVP at The Northwest Showcase.   Could another jump be in store?    Our readers clearly expect exactly that.
