Notable Prospects Who Have Impressed Through Week 2

We're only two weeks into the season, but several prospects have already started separating themselves with their production, consistency and overall impact. These are players we've talked about before, and now they're putting that offseason work and potential on display under the Friday night lights.    Harvey has been one of the more versatile pieces for Titusville and is showing exactly why he was on our radar coming into the season. The senior brings a strong combination of size, athleticism and playmaking ability, and he can impact the game in multiple ways. Two big performances, combining for 400+ total yards and five touchdowns. He's playing with confidence right now and looks ready to finish his high school career making a serious impact.     McKinney has been one of those guys I've liked because of how much he can do with the football in his hands. He's a twitchy athlete who can create separation, make defenders miss and contribute defensively as well. Tampa Catholic has a much different roster this season, and McKinney is one of the experienced pieces helping drive that turnaround. At 5-8, 165 pounds, he brings quickness and versatility that can create problems in space.     Larrick is starting to look like exactly the breakout candidate we talked about heading into the season. The 6-0, 185-pound junior has the verified size and speed to be a problem outside, while his route running and ability to make plays downfield continue to stand out. He already entered the season with a long list of Division I offers, and Sarasota has one of the deepest receiver rooms in the area. Now it's about turning that offseason buzz into consistent Friday night production.     Not sure I've seen a higher-motor linebacker this season. Williams eeds more looks. He flies around, plays physical and brings it for all four quarters. Also is a bulldozer near the goal line for the offense giving CCC flexibility on both sides of the ball. He's a physical, versatile player who can make things happen with the football while also bringing athleticism defensively. With CCC already showing it can compete with some of the better programs on the West Side, Williams is the type of piece who can continue becoming more important as the schedule gets tougher.     Blanden has been one of my favorite physical prospects to watch develop. At around 6-0, 205 pounds, he has the frame and play strength to be a problem as a ball carrier while also showing legitimate upside at linebacker. He already found the end zone four times in one game and is among the state's early leaders in total touchdowns. Port Charlotte has plenty of talent around him, but Blanden's physical style gives this team another weapon that can change a game.     Kawamura-Johnson is one of the players I've been waiting to see get more national attention. The Toledo commit has impressive speed, strong hands and the ability to win at multiple levels of the field. We saw the chemistry with A.J. Chung during the offseason, and now it's translating to Friday nights. In West Orange's 53-0 Week 2 win, Chung hit Kawamura-Johnson for a 57-yard touchdown on the opening drive. He's becoming a major part of one of the most dangerous offenses in Central Florida.     Archer brings the type of size and football IQ you want in a rising wideout. At 6-1, 180 pounds, he has the frame to be a mismatch problem while giving Clearwater a consistent production piece in the receiving room. This season is about putting all of those tools together and becoming one of the more consistent playmakers in the area.     Melbourne is a big-play waiting to happen. The 2027 receiver has the speed to stretch a defense, dependable hands and enough versatility to contribute at receiver, defensive back and in the return game. Now he's back with another opportunity to make his name even harder to overlook. Has already made some plays for a red hot Vero Beach program.     Mitchell continues to be an under-the-radar athlete who can impact the game on either side of the football. He's grown into a 5-11, 185-pound junior and has already shown he can produce as a receiver while also playing defensive back. I like the versatility here because he doesn't have to be limited to one role. If the production keeps coming, his name should continue moving up the radar.     McBath is another two-way athlete who has continued developing into a versatile piece for Auburndale. At 6-0, 180 pounds, he brings length, athleticism and physicality while playing both receiver and defensive back. Auburndale has already opened the season 1-0, and McBath has contributed on both sides while giving the Bloodhounds another explosive athlete to work with. He's the type of player who can quietly put together a strong season before more people start catching on.     Conte is coming off a solid couple early performance that demands attention. We've already had Conte on the radar as a versatile prospect who can make plays all over the field, but now the production is starting to match the profile. This is a big opportunity for him to turn a strong start into a true breakout junior season.
