CHESTER | AJ Price was ready for competition under the lights.

"It felt great to get out here and get into the real stuff," the Lewisville tailback said after the 17th Annual Ricky Campbell Jamboree at Chester. "We're hungry and we're ready for next week already."

Lewisville was joined by Great Falls, Clear Dot Charter, Garinger (N.C.) and the host Chester. What was supposed to be a hot night with possible delays turned into a perfect night for the high school football season to start getting into into gear.

Let's dive into what we saw and who impressed during Friday's action.

LEWISVILLE STANDOUTS

Price (pictured) was the star of the evening between the five teams. He was extremely quick and his bursts through open lanes were excellent. He scored all three Lewisville touchdowns and showed that he'll be a workhorse throughout the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1674012' first='Jax' last='MacAlpine'] was a focal point of the defense, playing well in both pass and run coverage. Other standouts in coverage were Cam Waiters and Cedric Spence whom both were constantly in on pass breakups.

Lewisville didn't throw the ball much, but when it did, quarterback Ridarius Harris that was in charge. Harris knew when to spread the wealth around the field and was very accurate and on time in the quick pass game that he was asked to run.

GREAT FALLS STANDOUTS

Demais Stevens was the main man in the ground attack for Great Falls. Stevens is shifty and can change direction in a hurry. He and his quarterback O'Rion Hamilton were both efficient in the ground game.

Hamilton also showcased a strong arm when needed, and very clearly had a favorite target. That was [player_tooltip player_id='1821805' first='Jaxson' last='Brantley'] and the two seemed to have good chemistry. Brantley was the main target each possession and he nearly hauled in what would've been Great Falls lone touchdown.

Austin McManus was involved both offensively at receiver and defensively at linebacker. He's got good hands at receiver and can also get heavily involved in the stopping the run game.

CLEAR DOT STANDOUTS

Chad Kea was all over the field for Clear Dot, spending time at quarterback, running back and receiver. He and senior Micah McDaniel both prided themselves on being able to play multiple positions.

Clear Dot had some success in stopping the run game and that was headlined by Jamarion Edmonds and Jerrion Lowman throughout the evening. Another player that made an impact was [player_tooltip player_id='2163601' first='Noah' last='Belton'] whom was imvolved both at tight end and defensive end.

GARINGER (N.C.) STANDOUTS

The lone out-of-state team brought plenty of talent and that started with Timothy Stewart. The freshman more than held his own in pass coverage ans was invovled in several tackles on the perimeter. He and linebacker Jordan Evans will be two focal points of the Garinger defense,

Stephen Yeah is another freshman that was productive in his time on the field. He was a power back and wasn't afraid to put his head down to try and run through tacklers to pick up some extra yards. Yeah will likely be the backup behind the experienced Orlando Smith and that has potential to be quite the tandem.

CHESTER STANDOUTS

Running back [player_tooltip player_id='1603999' first='Caleb' last='Feaster'] looked like the star we've all come to know him as Feaster's ability to be both powerful as well as run away from defenses in the open field is almost impossible to stop. When Feaster needs a play or two off, he'll be replaced by a solid combination of Jeremy Grant and [player_tooltip player_id='1822434' first='Adam' last='Lutz'] that each looked excellent when they got carries.

Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1822439' first='Jakobe' last='Starks'] was responsible for both Chester touchdowns, one on the ground and one in the air. Wright has the ability to stretch the ball down the field, while also knowing when to use his legs and evade pressure.

Chester also has several standouts on the defensive line that includes Zy'Terrion Crank and [player_tooltip player_id='1603965' first='Luke' last='Reed'] that are focal points of stopping the run game.

From the first snap, Cousar was flying all over the field. You wouldn't know he's a freshman when watching him play.

His ball instincts are outstanding, and he has a knack for being the first one to make a tackle. He flies from sideline to sideline and it's not often that he's going to miss a tackle. He will be an important piece in the middle of the defense.
