Hickman Talent On Display At Jamboree

The Hickman Kewpies made the trip East for their pre-season jamboree at Troy Buchanan high school. Here is a look at some of the top players at the event who look ready for big seasons.

Barrett Padberg TE 2028
6'4" 215
- A reliable receiving threat for the Kewpies who can stretch the field, be a short and intermediate outlet, as well as a great red zone target. He showed all of those abilities during the jamboree. He also plays defense on the edge and can rush the passer. Has a few early D1 offers heading into his junior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1600978' first='Jalen' last='Jones'] CB 2028
6'4" 181
- This long, rangy cornerback uses his size well and can cover a lot of ground. He showed good hips and the ability to turn and run at top speed, plus had quick hands and good ball skills. He also made plays and looked good against the run. He could wind up playing at safety on the next level. He has the frame to get much bigger, Jalen also plays basketball, but it looks like football is where his future may well be. Look for colleges to take notice following his play this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1198808' first='Kason' last='Conyers'] ATH 2027
6'0" 220
- The versatile Conyers is a weapon the can hurt teams in a variety of ways. He is a tough runner whose size and strength requires multiple defenders to tackle, but he also has enough speed to break longer runs. He is also a talented receiver who can play H-Back or TE inline or in the slot. He's another college prospect the Kewpies have who stood out with a nice touchdown run and consistent play.

[player_tooltip player_id='1131023' first='Bredun' last='Bursey'] QB 2027
5'9" 185
- Bursey will be playing his fourth year on varsity at quarterback this season. He showed some impressive play when he got the opportunity as a freshman and never looked back. Bredun is a good leader who understands and runs the offense very well. He sees the field well, finds the open receiver, and makes good decisions and accurate throws with good placement. He's got good mobility and can make plays with his legs as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1198815' first='Elijah' last='Dodson'] OL/DL 2027
6'3" 290
- Another multi-year starter who is on the recruiting radar of mostly D2 colleges. Dodson has himself in the best physical condition of his high school career with some hard work he put in during the offseason. He has good size, strength and quickness. He plays on both sides of the line, but saw most of his action at offensive tackle. His strong suit is his run blocking, but he protected his quarterback well. He told me he is in the process of lining up his official visits.
