Wofford Prospect Camp Offensive Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>SPARTANBURG |</strong> The sun was beaming on a hot, Wednesday afternoon as more than 120 campers took the field at Wofford for the Elite Prospect Camp.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It wasn't just local players, either. Campers made their way from North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Texas and even Australia. Regardless of where they were from, players showed up and showed out in front of the Wofford football coaching staff.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We'll have coverage for the defensive standouts as well, but today is all about the offense. Here are 10 offensive players that stood out Wednesday.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>Quarterbacks</strong></em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1094944' first='Aiden' last='Manavian']</strong>, Oceanside Academy 2027 - Manavian was the cream of the crop at the quarterback position, which is to be expected of a three-time state champion at Oceanside Collegiate. Manavian was on time with his throws and put balls in places that made it impossible for defenders to get to. He appeared to be in midseason form throughout the afternoon.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='640683' first='Kevin' last='Johnson']</strong>, Northwood Academy 2027 - Johnson rivaled Manavian's performance, being extremely precise and on-time with throws. Johnson showcased excellent footwork during individual drills, making it known that he can evade pressure in the pocket and make his presence felt on the ground game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Talmage Person</strong>, Gaffney 2030 - Person was one of the youngest quarterbacks in attendance, but it didn't show. He looked experienced, showcased a good arm and made outstanding throws both in short and deep routes. He's also got the ability to be an excellent runner, as shown by his 4.7 40-yard dash time.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>Running Backs</strong></em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Jacob Glassberg</strong>, Wando 2027 - If you want good footwork, a quick burst out of the backfield and good hands in the receiving game, Glassberg fits the bill for all. His burst out of the backfield when running routes allows for him to create separation from linebackers and haul in everything in his direction.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1015154' first='Amari' last='Harris']</strong>, Woodmont 2028 - Harris' strong suit is his footwork, something that allows him to quickly get out of the backfield and release into the middle of the field to make an impact in the passing game. He's also shifty, something that could help him navigate through a crowded backfield when necessary.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>Wide Receivers</strong></em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1672912' first='Chase' last='Richards']</strong>, Mountain View Prep 2028 - Richards bills as both a tight end and a wideout and he can be a viable option at both spots. With a 4.78 40-yard dash time, Richards can create separation and break down quick in the short and intermediate routes, while also creating separation to make plays on deep throws.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1824602' first='Steele' last='Gamble']</strong>, Powdersville 2029 - He's not the oldest or the biggest or the fastest, but Gamble may very well be the hardest worker. Throughout the entire day, he was outworking the rest of the campers and making plays on every ball thrown his way. Entering just his sophomore season, he certainly has an extremely bright future.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Christopher Cortinas</strong>, Monarch (Florida) 2027 - Cortinas was one of the many out-of-state receivers and he showcased elite playmaking ability, as well as phenomenal speed. His 4.6 40-yard dash was the best of any camper in attendance, and it showed in the 1-on-1 portion against slower defensive backs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>Tight Ends</strong></em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1819096' first='Kennedy' last='Means']</strong>, Boiling Springs 2027 - Means meant business, as he was fast and physical throughout the entire day. He looked excellent in blocking drills, as well as showcasing excellent route running ability and speed in the 1-on-1 drills. He's poised for a big senior season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1029787' first='Matthew' last='McCoy']</strong>, Weddington (North Carolina) 2027 - Another out of state performer, McCoy has a real feel for the position, especially in the route running portion. He can run any route asked of him and has excellent hands, hauling nearly everything that was thrown his way.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>Offensive Line</strong></em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1816837' first='Ruvim' last='Bondarenko']</strong>, Dorman 2027 - Jones was one of the premier offensive linemen in attendance, showcasing excellent footwork during drills, as well as during the 1-on-1 portion. His strong, 292-pound frame makes him nearly impossible to get through, a necessity for a successful offensive lineman.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
