Last season: (10-1)

William C. Bryant was a juggernaut last season, becoming champions of the entire PSAL 2A. They 10 of their 11 games they played this season only losing to Eagle Academy III, who they actually rematched and beat later in the season. Technically speaking, they beat everyone on their schedule, and split with Eagle Academy III who they faced twice. They had 8 games where they held their opponent to 8 points or less. They had some really impressive offensive games too-but their defense was the star. They were also the only team Eagle Academy III lost to all season! An all time season for the champs.

Top Prospect

Bouda is our highest ranked prospect from William C. Bryant here at Prep RedZone. He's got awesome size and length for a defensive back. He's got a rare clutch gene already at this age-he caught the game clinching interception to send William C. Bryant to the PSAL championship game. It's rare for one of the younger players on a team to step up in big moments and make plays like that. Look for Bouda to be the best returning player on the defending PSAL 2A Champs roster this upcoming season.

X-Factors

Suero looks to take over the reigns at QB next year with the departure of senior Mahdi Kobeissi. Suero is a bit unexperienced at quarterback, only throwing a few passes this previous season. He's got some rushing upside and some great accuracy in the short game. Suero will have big shoes to fill for the defending champs.

Lopez is one of the major returning pieces for William C. Bryant as they make their title defense run. Lopez was an integral piece for the offense last season. Lopez is a great boundary receiver, he's effective at tracking the ball and possesses strong hands. He does a great job with 50/50 balls-as showcased by his deep touchdown in the PSAL championship game. He's got some serious chops at corner as well-and he notched a pick six in the PSAL championship game. I'd love to see him work more in open space and see his twitch displayed. He will be huge on both sides of the ball next season for Bryant.

Abreu is another crucial returning player for William C. Bryant headed into their championship defense season. He's a track athlete in addition to football, with good speed and ball instincts. He made a crucial play in the PSAL championship game-a pass breakup with just a few minutes remaining shortly after Bryant had taken the lead. He's got ice in his veins and will be a crucial part of Bryant's title defense next season.

Pretty much all of the players listed here are 2027s that will be returning seniors for next season-and for good reason. They're all really good players Houssine is a really good looking athlete-he's 6'3, 265-and he hits like a truck. He's got some real thump to him, and he moves very fluidly for his height and weight. He's got some explosion and burst to him. I think at the next level he'll probably end up as an edge because of his size, but his fluidity and athleticism will really help him when it comes time for that eventual position change. He's a solid tackler, but at his best when really able to square up and explode through a ball carrier. He's a guy I'm really excited about that I feel confident that will excel at the next level.

Breakout Player

Tatsumasa is another '27 that will be returning to the team for his senior season. He's a runningback that complimented Kobeissi's rushing ability really well. He'll need to adjust for the new quarterback situation, but he's my breakout player because he should have an increased load and workload on the way. There are a lot of touches freed up for next season which he looks to take up. Like a lot of the other names mentioned here, he was a crucial part of Bryant's playoff run and looks to be an even more crucial part of their title defense.

Names to Know

Position

Player

Class

Notes

RB/OLB

Julian Zamudio

2029

Was a freshman on varsity last season, looks to take a bigger role with more running game touches available

OL/DL

Jihan Vinueza

2028

Young, larger lineman who can contribute on both sides

OL/DT

Dylan Rey

2028

Another young, larger lineman who looks to help out on both sides

Key Losses

QB- Mahdi Kobeissi
OL/DL- Raquan Daniels
LB- Adam Oueriaguli
OL/MLB- Steven Sukdeo

Schedule

https://www.psal.org/profiles/team-profile.aspx#005/30533/2027

2026-2027 Outlook

William C. Bryant is losing a lot of key pieces next season-most importantly their star quarterback. It will be interesting to see how the rushing attack looks next season after losing Kobeissi, as he's a prolific rusher, but I'm confident that Tatsumasa can pick up some of the missing pieces. They've still got a great coaching staff in place, they've got returning players who will be seniors and look to step into more leadership-like roles, and young guys who will be faced with more touches. A lot of their returning players can provide value on both sides of the ball-which will really help as well. Their schedule isn't too difficult next season, and it includes both Jamaica and Flushing which should be relatively easy games for them. The toughest game on their upcoming schedule is the championship rematch game against Boys and Girls High School. William C. Bryant has a very fun season to look forward to!
