Jayden Bayonne is one of the better players in the state of Louisiana, as he is not only the top-ranked defensive lineman in the state, but he is also ranked inside the top 20, coming in with a ranking of No. 16 in the class of 2027. He has done a ton of great things to find himself with a ranking this high, but it is safe to say that he will only get better when it comes to the talent he shows on the field. He is great at stopping the middle, but he is only going to rise in the rankings due to his pass-rushing skills. If he has a great season, he could find himself around the No. 10 spot.

Kobe Smith is a player that I have learned to like a lot when it comes to his on-field talent. He is versatile in the sense that he can play both EDGE and defensive line at a very high level, which will only help him rise in the rankings in my opinion. As of now, the talented prospect ranks as the No. 2 defensive lineman in the state and is the No. 43 overall prospect in the class of 2027 when it comes to his rankings in The Boot. If the Louisiana prospect continues to grow in each area of his game, he will be one of the many players that we all talk about for years to come, in my opinion.

Right behind Smith is another Smith, as he is just two spots behind the Avoyelles High School prospect. This means he is ranked as the No. 45 prospect in the state of Louisiana when it comes to the class of 2027 prospects, and he is ranked as the No. 3 defensive lineman in the state as well. If he continues to grow as a prospect in many different areas, he will find himself rising in the rankings and could even pass Kobe Smith, which would be interesting to see. Maison Smith will have his hands full this season, but isn't afraid of the challenge.

Next up on the list is Russ Lewis, who is ranked as the No. 94 prospect in the 2027 class when it comes to the state of Louisiana, along with being the No. 4-ranked defensive lineman in the state as well. Lewis is a bit shorter than some of the prospects when it comes to being ranked as a defensive lineman, but that hasn't stopped him, as he is still a star on the defensive line. He is going to be one that is worth monitoring this season, and he is going to be a player who is going to find himself in some big plays and moments this season. Keep an eye on the talented prospect out of Archbishop Rummel High School, to say the least.

Grayson Powell is one of the better players on this list in my opinion, as he is ranked No. 5 among defensive linemen and No. 102 in the state of Louisiana when it comes to the class of 2027 rankings. He is only going to get better over time and will be one of the players who finds himself rising in the rankings, as he is much better than the frame he plays with on the interior, but is great rushing the passer off the EDGE as well. He seems like more of an EDGE to me, but is used very differently. Keep an eye out on him to see how he does this season.
