Per usual rankings are based on who projects highest at the collegiate level. You can be an outstanding HS athlete and not project to a high level of collegiate ball. Have a look at the Washington Top 250 as we break down #51-100 defensively with updated offers and commitments. *PLEASE NOTE: 50+ athletes were added to the 2027 rankings board so multiple individuals will drop numerous spots for that reason alone. *Rankings were compiled in collaboration with Andrew Nemec COMPLETE LIST (Top 250) https://prepredzone.com/washington/rankings/2027-watch-list/ A few of Washington's top big men on the defensive front have a chance to make a significant jump up the rankings board with a good season. 6-5 230 pound DE [player_tooltip player_id='2042059' first='Lukas' last='Redmond'] comes in at #51 after earning 2nd team all Kingco honors in his first season playing football. [player_tooltip player_id='1606270' first='Kaden' last='Kooner'] out of Bellevue, [player_tooltip player_id='928141' first='MJ' last='Wadley'] of GK, and [player_tooltip player_id='2235532' first='Isaiah' last='Whatley'] of Puyallup are all significant contributors up front for what will be state title favorites. Kooner has had a big offseason and should be one of the top edge rushers in the NW. Wadley makes the move from Yelm, and Whatley at 6-3 255 has all of the intangibles and has done well at Big Sky camps. 6-5 240-pound [player_tooltip player_id='1188136' first='Kell' last='Reardon'] is a 1st team all-state DE out of Mount Baker who most still don't know about. 1st team all GSHL D lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1691687' first='Colten' last='Nibler'] out of Skyview had a nice junior season and jumped almost 10 spots in the rankings, with [player_tooltip player_id='1599654' first='Braydon' last='Cook'] out of Olympia being a 1st team all-league guy as well and putting up some of the best numbers statewide. [player_tooltip player_id='1599604' first='Keelan' last='Thomas'] out of O'Dea is hands down one of top DL in the state, he's just undersized for the position. [player_tooltip player_id='2042065' first='Jack' last='Devine'] out of Eastlake is also noteworthy and one of the top returning defenders in the Kingco conference. Moving on to the LB's there are a bunch of dudes who can play. [player_tooltip player_id='1727670' first='Max' last='Bridges'] out of Glacier Peak is a hybrid OLB/DE and had one of the best offseasons of any player in the region. He killed it as part of FSP after recording 18 sacks in 2025. At 6-4 230-pound [player_tooltip player_id='1766242' first='Christopher' last='Kooiman'] out of Lynden Christian is one of the fastest rising prospects in the state, doing well at collegiate camps and earning MVP honors over the last few months. Once again Skyview out of Vancouver will feature an elite group of backers highlighted by [player_tooltip player_id='1530876' first='Toren' last='Baker'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1568793' first='David' last='Dudko'] who have both been all conference athletes since their sophomore season. [player_tooltip player_id='1369676' first='Chance' last='Savini'] is another LB not to sleep on out of Kentwood as a 3-year starter and 1st team all NPSL returner. [player_tooltip player_id='1691685' first='Jayland' last='Coleman'] out of Woodinville has tested off the charts, has phenomenal size and overall athleticism, and put up some of the best numbers in the Kingco last season. He may have to do it again and then some to feel the love on the recruiting front. DB [player_tooltip player_id='2156019' first='Grady' last='Wall'] out of Tumwater was one of the fastest risers in the entire state on the rankings board. He was named the league MVP and a 1st team all-state selection on D while also putting up 1000+ yards offensively. Graham Kapowsin teammates [player_tooltip player_id='1368341' first='Derick' last='Manibusan'] and Keyan Wilson give the Eagles two more likely all state selections. Manibusan will be in the POY conversation, and Wilson had a solid junior campaign with 70+ tackles and 6 TFL's. A few other kids I really like out of Ballard include 1st team All-Metro Safety [player_tooltip player_id='1582224' first='Wyatt' last='Minear'] and good looking 6-2 DB [player_tooltip player_id='2065193' first='Chase' last='Gersack']. Last but not least, [player_tooltip player_id='2100463' first='Felix' last='Ramsey'] out of Lake Stevens who we've talked about previously. He had an outstanding junior year with 74 tackles, 8 PBU's, and 2 INTs.
