One of the top returning players for the Spartans is senior offensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='2121081' first='Ty' last='Greene'], who makes the switch from defensive tackle. The TCU commit brings tenacity and a foundation on the line, and a great talent to follow behind. Senior guard Nathan Edwards is also a force on the line. Very physical with the mindset of putting every opponent in the ground. On the other side of the line, sophomore Marvin Alexander steps in as tackle. His 6'5, 310 pound frame has proven to be a problem to get around. Alexander has a solid punch and is strong in the run game. Junior receiver Hudson Good is the returning stat leader at the position, while senior Jayden Matthews brings the experience to the receiving core. These two will be key factors in the offense with their size and skill after the catch. Junior quarterback Matthew Selesky will have the guys up front for protection and the weapons out wide, and will be asked to lead this offense. With good reps last season, this is nothing new for him. Selesky looked very good, passing for over 500 yards with 8 touchdowns to just 1 interception.

The defense will be led by senior EDGE Callan Kirk who is one of the most disruptive players in the area. 11 sacks and 36 TFLs last season, Kirk is a hunter on the field who lives to make plays. Senior defensive lineman Thomas Turner is a name to keep watch on as well. Senior safety Colton Barber will be a player to know. He is strong in run support and gets downhill in a hurry.

The Spartans will face a change with a number of key players leaving but have guys to lead the charge this upcoming season. With a solid group of seniors, especially in the trenches, the Spartans are in a great spot to succeed. A quarterback with experience, strong leadership, and a coach who knows how to win. The playmakers will need to step up in big moments and this team will undoubtedly play for each other. Watch for the Stratford Spartans to right the ship this fall and bounce back as a team to make a strong playoff run.
