Six South Dakota 2029s Coming Up to the Rankings

Now that the camp trail has finally ended, we move into "the who" in the South Dakota 2029 class that will surge into our rankings in our next rankings update coming up very soon. These six caught our attention either from coming off the watchlist or just off our 2029 South Dakota rankings.    There's a lot of loaded up arm strength from the first look you see at Brody's tape from his freshmen year at Sioux Falls Lincoln, and I felt the throw variety got even better the more I watched. He shows off the quick release you want to see out of a young buck and surely has the precison to advance his WRs upfield that shows off quick persistence. Sioux Falls Lincoln has had plenty of next-level quarterbacks in their queue for the 5+ years we've been in the Dakotas, and Brody could be the next entering his sophomore year to watch for.     Jennings is one that peaks his first tape as a linebacker that shows off the elite size for his age as the 6'3 205 pounder from Brookings shows off quickly as a thumper in the 7v7 reps you see. My eval on Jennings brings more of a thumper-type as a linebacker not only because of the present size he has already, but surely when you throw the pads on he'll be allowed to be more physical around the ball in pass coverage. A 2029 linebacker that appears to have high upside when it comes to his instincts as we'll leave the TE/LB projection until we see more out of Jennings on both sides of the ball.     Malachi might only have under a minute of tape to watch from his freshmen season at Sioux Falls Lincoln, but man there's some skilsets that don't wait to pop out as a mover to our 2029 South Dakota rankings. He's a running back that is very sudden at showing off his burst on the muliple reps that show that off on tape. He also shows off what looks like a bruiser when it comes to contact as one of the clips shows him laying the wood with his shoulder into an incoming linebacker and maintained the athleticism I want to see out of a running back in the 2029 class. He should be towards the front of the running back group when the 2029 RB rankings come out.     Maximus we had orginally graded at the tight end spot, but surely the clips we saw from his 7v7 season project more of a wide receiver type with his size. He's got smooth looking hands regardless of the route tree he's on as you can see the sudden burst that he can create for yards after the catch as well. He also boosts the finishing ability after the catch the later you get into his tape which projects even more surface at the WR position. Surely looks like a 2029 wide receiver we will have in our first couple of WR spots in South Dakota.     Another 2029 quarterback out of Sioux Falls Lincoln that grew his stock from our last 2029 update is Mile Van Roekel. It's early the grasp, but I already like the chemistiry that Miles seems to have his with Patriots receiving core from a ball placement perspective. He also has the quick release you want to see on intermediate routes. He persistently gives his wide receivers plenty of route progession after the catch. There surely looks like a QB battle on their hands at Sioux Falls Lincoln to watch for, with two quarterbacks on our 2029 list that are moving to the rankings.     South Dakota State Jackrabbits fans might recognize this last name, as the little brother of SDSU commit [player_tooltip player_id='1622004' first='Leif' last='Karlson'] is next on our 2029 South Dakota borad to watch. The 6'3 235 pounder was already a starter for the Orioles in his freshmen season, and shows off early the quick gripping hands you want to see that has control and the gripping physicality you want to see from an early look.
