PRZMD Team Previews: Linganore Lancers

Outside of their first game against Mervo (a 36-27 win), all of their games were won by large double-digits. They've gone 13-0 (2025), 13-1 (2024 ,lost in state chip) and 12-2 (2024, lost in state chip) in the past three seasons. Showed great touch on intermediate-to-deep passes downfield. His completion percentage (71%) shows he's accurate. Looking forward to more types of throws in his highlights this upcoming season, especially in-between the hashes. Has good pocket presence and can escape pressure while still completing passes. The way he controls the edge is impressive. Edge defenders have no chance at the point of attack. Physically, he's bigger. Add the fact that he has that dog mentality and finishes plays, makes him a nightmare to go up against. I like how his coaches flip him from one side to the other on plays where they want to make him the lead blocker. Once Bauer gets inside of the defensive lineeman's pads, it's over. His highlights show that he's very consistent with his hand placement. Good agility to be that big. His wingspan, technique, and footwork makes it hard for anyone to get around him on passing plays. Undersized but stoutly built and plays with relentless effort. Does his best to stay low, be active with his hands, and uses his strength to power by bigger offensive linemen. Curious to see if he's gotten more explosive coming off the football compared to last season. Plays at a low pad level and keeps a strong base, hard to move. Shown managed to do that last season as a nose guard/defensive tackle. It's worth noting that he also is a tackle on the offensive line. I say that because his controlled aggression comes out on both sides of the football. The way he explodes off the ball at his age stands out to me, and he plays with a high motor. Knows how to use his hands and quick feet to shed blocks and engages sooner rather than later. His highlights show a brief glimpse of how effective he can be in the red zone. With his height, Hammond is a natural target in that area, and there are a few plays that show he can be a difference-maker. Right now, he's more of a possession receiver who can win those 50/50 jump balls.
