NEWBERRY | This was never going to just be a two-part series.

It wasn't going to be possible. Newberry College's prospect camp was just too loaded with talent, with too much high-level competition with too much to prove - and, honestly, it was probably too hot of a day to try to load that many names into the laptop at one time - for this to strictly be two lists of players.

First, we took a look at the best of the best on the defensive side of the ball, then chased that with the guys they spent all afternoon chasing by breaking down the top offensive standouts.

But there was still a little bit of overlap in that Venn diagram, and where those circles joined is where we found our final installment from Setzler Field, home of one of the very best small-college football programs in America.

Without further ado, here's our list of Thursday's top talent representing SCISA and the smaller classifications of the SCHSL.

[player_tooltip player_id='1324023' first='Calvin' last='Brown'] 2027 DL, Northwood Academy (pictured)

Brown was an absolute monster up front during 1-on-1s, using his long wingspan and powerful hands to immediately gain separation from whoever was unsuccessfully trying to move him out of the way.

Conner Coyle 2030 OL, Saluda

Coyle already has great size as a rising freshman at 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds, and he's also got plenty of time to find his perfect pair of cleats - the ones he wore Thursday clearly weren't ready for him to move as quickly as he did on Newberry's turf.

[player_tooltip player_id='1648648' first='Kymani' last='Denny'] 2027 WR, Ridge Spring-Monetta

Denny had another strong season for Ridge Spring-Monetta at both wide receiver and defensive back as a junior, and we don't expect him to slow down any time soon. His speed stood out during individual drills, and as his numbers continue improving it's going to be even harder for him to remain overlooked.

[player_tooltip player_id='1603963' first='Mason' last='Evans'] 2027 QB, Crescent

We may be stretching it a little bit by including Crescent in the "small-school" category, but we're stepping out onto a very short and sturdy limb when we say that Evans has a big-time arm - especially for someone that didn't start out as a quarterback. Maybe the best throw he made all day was to the sideline on a roll-out, a rep that wasn't a strong point for the group as a whole. It's clear that he's more than comfortable on the move, and now opposing defenders will truly have to gamble once he's on the run.

[player_tooltip player_id='1422623' first='DQ' last='Green'] 2027 LB, Lamar

"Linebacker from Lamar" is a GSPD way of saying "make sure your chin strap is buckled," and in Green's case that doesn't even cover what he's capable of on offense. That's where a setting like this can preview what's in store for the season to come, because Green's explosive ability to change direction suggests the Silver Foxes' leading tackler should have a much bigger impact on offense - where he's also their leading returner in all-purpose yardage.

Tyler Green 2027 LB, Holly Hill Academy

A SCISA 8-Man All-Star nod was only the beginning of a huge 2025-26 year for Green that also included a captain's award in basketball and MVP honors for the state championship baseball team. His speed was a tone-setter right out of the gate Thursday, which makes it easy to understand how he racked up 22 tackles for loss last season in such a wide-open brand of football.

[player_tooltip player_id='1820720' first='Isaiah' last='Scott-Palacios'] 2027 RB, Greenwood Christian

Scott-Palacios moves so well for a 6-foot-2, 200-pounder that the first word in our notebook next to his name is "chugging." It doesn't take him long to get going downhill, and watch out once he does - there's plenty of pop to go with his speed and cutting ability.

Kameron Squirewell 2030 DL, Great Falls

Learn the name now, because Squirewell looks every bit like a big-time problem for whoever Great Falls sees over the next four years. He's already built like a powerhouse linebacker at 5-foot-11 and 230-plus pounds, and he showed the hand strength and footwork to be a force up front sooner rather than later.

Reece Still 2027 WR, Jefferson Davis Academy

As is the nature of 8-man football, Still has worn and will continue to wear a variety of hats for the Raiders. Wherever that leads to him lining up, we saw enough from his cutting ability and lateral quickness to believe JDA will be pleased with the results.

[player_tooltip player_id='1818281' first='Jamearion' last='Williams'] 2028 DB, Abbeville

Williams missed a big chunk of last season due to injury but returned in time to be a force for Abbeville's basketball team, and he showed Thursday that the time off didn't slow him down one bit. He blazed through his drills, which bodes well for him - and not the opposition - in an expanded running back/defensive back role.
