Lafayette Joint Camp Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In a busy summer of joint practice and camp events that have been going on the past two months, one of the top ones I had the chance to take in was the Rockwood camp at Lafayette high school that the Lancers hosted that also included Summit, Zumwalt West and Chaminade. Here are some of the standouts who caught my eye with their play at the camp.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1188296' first='Isaac' last='Hudson'] 2027 WR Chaminade<br>6'3" 210 - Committed to South Dakota State. The sure-handed receiver continued to take his game to another level with his route running and ball skills. He's twitchy and agile with quick cutting ability despite being over 200lbs, and had good speed and burst to separate from defenders. Isaac showed good body control and the ability to catch the ball in traffic and climb to grab it at it's highest point. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1160675' first='Chase' last='Dixon'] 2027 DL/OL Ft. Zumwalt West <br>6'4" 300 - The big Missouri State defensive tackle commit was dominant on both sides of the ball despite doing double duty. Chase has quick feet that serve his well whether it blocking or getting up field and beating offensive linemen to make plays. He uses his strength well and has good technique at defensive line and can block gaps or run down plays.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1598497' first='Devin' last='Walker'] 2028 OL Summit<br>6'4" 300 - One of the next top offensive line prospects to come out of Missouri will be the powerful and athletic Walker. An explosive and powerful blocker with great strength and good feet. Devin has started since he was a freshman on varsity and has elevated his play over this offseason and looks dominant. Equally good at run and pass blocking. Look for a breakout season with college interest to follow in 2026-27.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Cortez Beasley 2027 DL Lafayette<br>6'2" 300 - This big 300-pounder with a good motor caught my attention early and often. He is quick off the ball and gets good push up the middle while making it tough for opponents to run up the middle. Showed good strength and the ability to put pressure on the quarterback and blow up plays. Getting college interest.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1324185' first='J'Mareon' last='Barnes'] 2027 QB Chaminade <br>6'0" 190 - The athletic dual threat senior signal-caller is QB1 this season after having to split time last year. He looked great and should have a big year with his ability to run and pass the ball. Mo has a big arm with good accuracy and nice touch and placement on his deep throws. He also runs like a tailback and keeps defenses off balance. If his line does their job he should run and throw for over 1,000 in 2026.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
