Dozens of Louisiana's top-ranked 2027 prospects have announced college commitments already, but the several legitimate Division-I prospects around the always-talented state remain available on the recruiting market entering senior year.

With August fast approaching, Prep Redzone Louisiana will look at a few of the most notable uncommitted prospects at each position that programs should take a closer look heading into the fall for potential steals in the final month of the cycle.

Here are a handful of defensive linemen to keep an eye on.

[player_tooltip player_id='1610155' first='Cam' last='Bagwell'] — 6-1, 215 EDGE — River Oaks

News headline here within the prospect spotlight is that the two-time LSWA Class 3A all-state selection at Sterlington is now just down Highway 165 at River Oaks to wrap up his prep career. Few, if any players, in the state have more of a proven track record of production and winning, but felt as largely under the radar from a recruiting standpoint. Bagwell wrapped up 149 tackles, including 22 for loss, 13 sacks, two safeties, four forced fumbles and four recoveries the past two years as a key defensive playmaker for the back-to-back champion Panthers. He's almost certain to wreak havoc for the Mustangs in the small Midsouth Association of Independent Schools. And while the spotlight may not be as big there, there have been recent examples of prospects making the jump from River Oaks to Division-I college opportunities.

Gaven Brown — 6-3, 225 EDGE — Iowa

and [player_tooltip player_id='1825838' first='Landon' last='Joseph'] — 6-2, 225 EDGE — Iowa

Opponents will once again have to pick their poison. College programs will have the option to pick their promising Yellow Jackets edge rusher — or doubling up and keeping them together at the next level. Brown and Joseph were a nightmare for high school offenses this past fall to help Iowa complete its run to a first-ever state championship and saw their recruitments gain some traction this spring. Central Arkansas offered both players, and Nicholls State and McNeese State made moves on Brown as well. The stouter Joseph earned all-state honors with 112 tackles, including 35 for loss and 14.5 sacks, as a junior. Brown, with his length and quickness, tallied 90 tackles, including 30 for loss and 12 sacks. There's no reason to expect either to slow down in their final high school season, and colleges should continue to take a closer look and aim to land one or both.

[player_tooltip player_id='2228525' first='Ronnie' last='Miller'] — 6-3, 215 EDGE — Archbishop Shaw

Miller was one of the notable new eye-catchers during spring travels during his Eagles' scrimmage at Destrehan. He stood out quickly from an eye-test standpoint and repeatedly fired off the ball as a tenacious rusher from his defensive end spot and arrived to ball-carriers in explosive fashion. One college coach and media member after another asked, "Who's that?" in excited fashion as he made his disruptive, hard-hitting presence felt. For a team with a long list of key pieces back, title aspirations and some exciting matchups on deck, Miller is one on whom fans and college coaches alike to keep an eye.

[player_tooltip player_id='934585' first='Grayson' last='Powell'] — 6-2, 250 DL — John F. Kennedy

One of the earliest defensive line prospects to earn a PRZLA ranking in the class, Powell is the biggest player on this list with a combination of size, strength and athleticism that enables him to be a force inside, but also have some positional versatility to move along the front and attack opposing offenses in a variety of fashions. He stood out early on, and his continued physical development and conditioning during the course of his high school career have made him all the more tenacious and high-motor of a player in his fights through blocks and pursuits to the bowl to often rack up disruptive plays behind the line of scrimmage or chase down ball-carriers in space.

Dozens of Louisiana's top-ranked 2027 prospects have announced college commitments already, but the several legitimate Division-I prospects around the always-talented state remain available on the recruiting market entering senior year.
