Tualatin HS group shines at the NW Showcase

The largest showcase on the West coast didn't disappoint with 30 states represented and a lot of talent as usual from the Northwest. One of Oregon's top programs, a legit state title contender next season in Tualatin, was especially impressive with three athletes landing camp MVP's and multiple other individuals being listed as top performers.    As of right now I have the T-Wolves ranked the #2 team in the state heading into next season behind West Linn. A big reason for that is their new and improved line which features the 6A POY favorite on the defensive front in [player_tooltip player_id='937240' first='Isaiah' last='Ormond'], who made the move from the Mountainside. He has been absolutely dominant all off season and put an exclamation point on that last Saturday garnering MVP honors over a handful of nationally ranked big men. Expect the 6-3 295 pounder to have 5-10 division 1 offers before he's done.    The other big man who was in the MVP conversation and somewhat of a surprise was 2028 standout [player_tooltip player_id='1614794' first='Kolby' last='Wofford'] who recently moved from 3A Dayton to Tualatin. Coaches were asking, "Who is this" ..  And ..  "Where did he come from" type questions. He got multiple votes for MVP right behind his teammate, even with 800+ athletes in attendance.    What makes this so intriguing is that Ormond and Wofford will join two of the state's fastest rising O line prospects in [player_tooltip player_id='2106063' first='Rocco' last='Grady'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2106065' first='Mason' last='Powarczuk'], both incoming 6-4 juniors with a D1 projection. If the line can put it all together they have an unquestioned division 1 perimeter to block for.   Two of the other MVP's who had breakout showcases included all everything back [player_tooltip player_id='937241' first='Cole' last='Hachmeister'] and maybe the fastest rising 2028 recruit in the region in 6-5 210 TE [player_tooltip player_id='1609596' first='Brady' last='Knips']. Hachmeister recently received his first D1 offer from Western Kentucky and was more than deserving of the MVP award, even against multiple 3* backs who have a national ranking. How Tualatin splits carries between two other Oregon POY candidates in [player_tooltip player_id='1609595' first='Iden' last='Rule'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2079648' first='Easton' last='Grubb'] will be interesting. Talk about a good problem to have.    Knips might be tired of hearing his own name with his stock skyrocketing. Before the camp he was the one guy I singled out as a P4 athlete with double digit offers coming in the near future. His accolades from the camp came against some of the best TE's in the region, helping to solidify him as one of the top ranked 28's in Oregon. The question for defenders is how do you guard [player_tooltip player_id='1609596' first='Brady' last='Knips'] who will play opposite teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1609636' first='Brock' last='Estes'] and is all of 6-6. Separate from the talent the size will be ridiculously tough to matchup against.    One of the breakout performers from the day came in 2029 LB [player_tooltip player_id='1720607' first='Colton' last='Potter'], who is also considered one of Oregon's top receivers for his class. His size and physicality for such a young athlete is similar to that of all TRL football/baseball prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1609761' first='Tyler' last='Holmes'] of West Linn, who is widely considered one of the state's best. As deep as the T-Wolves are, I could see Potter getting on the field as a sophomore and being one of the better 29's in the Three Rivers League. He was that impressive.    In summary Dom Ferraro is doing a phenomenal job at THS and they should be in the mix come 6A title time.
