Colleges have done well in mining Iowa's 2027 recruiting class. Twelve different guys have verbally committed to Power 4 programs. Quite a few others have pledged to FBS and FCS schools.

Even with those sizable numbers, a lot of talent from the state for the cycle remains in the board. Here's a closer look at a group of them:

[player_tooltip player_id='1198837' first='Jeremiah' last='Roberson'], DB, Dowling Catholic

Announced offers: None.

The Situation: I was able to scout Roberson in person during last regular season and again in the state championships at the UNI-Dome in November. From those observations, I feel confident in saying he's one of Iowa's most under-recruited 2027s. He's likely being overshadowed by a deep and talented Dowling Catholic roster because the film reveals a prospect that can help plenty of programs on the next level.

Colleges have shown interest. He took visits to South Dakota State and Drake in February. St. Thomas, Lindenwood, Sioux Falls, Valparaiso, Winona State, MSU Moorhead and MSU Duluth also invited him to campus.

Schools would be wise to get a closer look at Roberson in camp. He would be wise to take them up on those invitations.

[player_tooltip player_id='1361094' first='Preston' last='Fox'], OL/DL, Assumption

Announced offers: None.

The Situation: Fox has been active in his recruitment. The Assumption lineman jumped into the Lindenwood Mega Camp after his sophomore season of 2024. He competed at a South Dakota camp last summer, attended a Northwestern College game in August of last year and stopped for a Southwest Minnesota State game-day experience in September.

November found Fox at a Grand View and Wayne State games. In March and April, he visited Wayne State, Upper Iowa, MSU Mankato, MSU Moorhead, Northwestern College, Missouri Baptist and Wisconsin-Platteville. Upper Iowa stopped by Assumption to speak with him last month. Oklahoma State, South Dakota State, Northern Iowa, Mankato, Montana and others have invited him to camps.

It feels like a school is close to extending an offer to Fox. Strong performances on the camp circuit certainly could and should expedite that process.

[player_tooltip player_id='1617649' first='Neil' last='James'], ATH, Iowa City West

Announced offers: MSU Mankato, Sioux Falls, Winona State, Upper Iowa.

The Situation: I love seeing Iowa student-athletes live out their dreams playing college sports. Promoting that process is a rewarding adventure on a path of positivity. With that in mind, while colleges are finally starting to catch on, James is being undervalued along the recruiting trail as evidenced by his junior highlight video and success on the track this spring.

James camped at Iowa, Kansas State, Northern Illinois and others last summer. He visited Iowa State, Western Michigan, Southern Illinois, Drake, South Dakota and North Dakota for games last fall. He attended junior days at Drake and South Dakota this February and March. MSU Mankato came through with an offer on May 22. Sioux Falls, Winona State and Upper Iowa have since done the same.

Colleges taking the time to evaluate James at their camps will like what they see. There's significant upside here.

[player_tooltip player_id='1705161' first='Jordi' last='Zioka'], OL, Iowa City West

Announced offers: None.

The Situation: Another Trojan being under-recruited, Zioka is a powerful athlete with good feet and a chance to develop into much more, as he shows during his junior highlight video. He looks the part in person as well.

Zioka camped with the Hawkeyes last summer. He's spoken with Illinois State and Wisconsin-Platteville at Iowa City West during this offseason. St. Thomas invited him to junior day, and Zioka has been invited to camp with Upper Iowa and Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Zioka should take those programs and any others up on camp invites. The power and potential for more are easily seen in person.

[player_tooltip player_id='2067631' first='Avery' last='Beck'], ATH, St. Albert

Announced offers: None.

The Situation: Beck is an excellent overall athlete that could end up on either side of the ball on the next level. He'll be a special teams' asset as well. He offers up evidence to that effect during his junior highlight videos on OFFENSE and DEFENSE.

Colleges are intrigued. Beck has been invited to junior days and camps at Idaho, St. Thomas, Morningside, Grand View, Eastern Illinois, North Dakota State, MSU Mankato, Sioux Falls and quite a few others.

Beck would benefit from camping with as many programs as possible. There's sure to be at least one, and probably more, that will see the value he can bring to a roster on the next level.
