Preseason X Factors: Beech Football

<p>The Beech football program is coming off an 11-2 season that included 11 straight victories after falling in the season opener.</p>   <p>However, the team loses the majority of their production and experience from the last several years as a large senior class has since graduated and moved up to the college level. As the Buccaneers look to make another deep postseason push, they will be relying on a lot of brand new faces to step up and emerge as consistent playmakers.</p>   <p>They can rely on these five players and each will need to take a massive leadership role this offseason and into the fall.</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2027 QB [player_tooltip player_id='1317766' first='Sawyer' last='Phillips']</h2>   <p>While [player_tooltip player_id='1317766' first='Sawyer' last='Phillips'] has been the backup over the last several season to Kentucky baseball signee Kaden Powell, he has the ability to be a high-impact quarterback for the team, giving the coaching staff someone they can trust to lead the offense.</p>   <p>He is an accurate passer and can push the ball down the field to his playmakers, which should bode well when working the play action game off a strong rushing attack that has become the program's identity.</p>   <p>He has productive tailbacks next to him and a high-level playmaker on the perimeter, but he will need to step up quickly and help take the passing attack to another level as the team looks for other weapons at the receiver position.</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2027 RB/LB [player_tooltip player_id='903534' first='DK' last='Williams']</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='903534' first='DK' last='Williams'] has been the heart and soul of the defense for a long time now with his excellent energy and motor in addition to his high-level play on the football field.</p>   <p>He is a versatile front seven defender that can not be stopped once he explodes through a gap in the offensive line or a play kicks outside. He is an explosive playmaker and every single play he makes energizes both his team and a strong home environment.</p>   <p>He will also be a crucial part of the running back room, where he will help take the pressure off a new starting quarterback.</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2028 WR/DB [player_tooltip player_id='1028041' first='Jeramy' last='Laster'] Jr</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1028041' first='Jeramy' last='Laster'] Jr is one of the most dynamic playmakers in the state for the 2028 cycle and he will have to bring that dynamism to the gridiron every single Friday night this season.</p>   <p>He returns as the team's top receiver and gives his quarterback someone that can take it to the house on any given play, whether on sweeps/screens, yards after the catch or on vertical routes.</p>   <p>He will also be the top defensive back on the team and will be tasked with covering the opposing top receiver for the entire game, making his performance each week absolutely crucial to the team's success.</p>   <p>He will also be a key asset on special teams, especially as a dynamic returner to help win the field position battle.</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2027 OL/DL [player_tooltip player_id='1634767' first='London' last='Parks']</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1634767' first='London' last='Parks'] has been a mainstay in the trenches for the Buccaneers during his high school career and will have to be a two-way standout for the team this season.</p>   <p>He will lead an offensive line that has lost a lot of talent, experience and size this offseason, and will have to be able to control top edge rushers alone on an island this fall. The interior returns some solid options, but Parks will have to lead the way at tackle.</p>   <p>While he is primarily an offensive line standout, if he can provide an added boost to the defensive line this season, that would be massive for the front seven as he offers strong size, athleticism and physicality.</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2027 TE/EDGE/K Caden Campbell</h2>   <p>Caden Campbell is going to have a huge impact on games this fall for the Beech football team with his versatility and impact in all three facets.</p>   <p>On offense, he has been a strong part of the tight end room, helping lead way for some of the best rushing attacks in the mid-state over the last two seasons. He will be a veteran that knows the system and can help run it exactly how the staff wants.</p>   <p>On defense, he should be the team's top edge rusher, and with veteran interior defensive line bodies plus linebackers on the roster, his presence off the edge could help take a significant load off a rebuilding secondary.</p>   <p>On special teams, he is the team's kicker and will make a significant impact there as the team looks to win in the margins.</p>
