The UA Next Camp in Chicago was a great opportunity to evaluate some of the top prospects in the Midwest with our focus particularly on Illinois. We were able to see the lineman go through an array of drills and one on ones. Here I examine what caught our attention from the defensive lineman at the camp!

[player_tooltip player_id='1566782' first='Kelonnie' last='Owens'] (Bloom - 2027)

Owens is a long and angular edge rusher that checked in at 6'2” 210 pounds while running a blistering 4.8 40 yard dash time. Looked great in drill work as he bended around the edge with his body control and quick feet. Bag work was a day in the park to him. Fluid footwork and has tremendous speed off the edge. Gets the tackle off him with hands. Showed a variety of pass rush moves with quick moves inside, powerful use of his hands through defenders, and spin moves for wins in one on ones.

[player_tooltip player_id='1598811' first='Brian' last='Demoss'] (Simeon - 2027)

Demoss is among the best defenders still uncommitted. Sounds like his decision will come down to Kansas and Kansas State. Long and lanky edge rusher that presents fluid athleticism and easy change of direction. Great in circle drill with his bend. Burst off the snap and powerful punch with his hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='1335328' first='Corey' last='Randolph'] (Simeon - 2027)

Randolph played up to his ranking as one of the best interior defensive lineman in the state. Big bodied defensive tackle with plus plus athleticism. Powerful bull rush through centers and guards. Quickness getting up field consistently with his burst, hands, and technique. Won on an up and under along with a sweet swim. Juice getting north/south. Very vocal after each win!

[player_tooltip player_id='1791849' first='David' last='Hill'] (Homewood Flossmoor - 2027)

The Wisconsin commit looked every bit the part of a Big 10 defensive lineman on Sunday as the defensive tackle was very agile and technically sound in drill work. Light on his feet for his size and the movement skills translate. Low to the ground and changes directions on a dime. Moves very well for his size. Powerful use of his hands and has quickness beating interior offensive lineman off the snap.

Machail Henderson (Cahokia - 2027)

The 6'4” 250 pound defensive lineman from the metro east put his name on the map. Moves really well for his size. Change of direction and was sound in circle drills. Thick lower half. Look for a big senior year here!

[player_tooltip player_id='1334164' first='Jyheir' last='Sutton'] (Kankakee - 2027)

Stout 6'1” 290 pound defensive tackle is a thick bodied interior defensive lineman. Was just ok in drill work, but when the one on ones started he turned it up! Quick move inside for win on a top ranked guard. Elite hand placement getting offensive lineman's hands off him. Swats them away like a bug. I think I wrote hands down 4 times in one on ones alone!

[player_tooltip player_id='2104961' first='Ronald' last='Moore'] (Kenwood - 2027)

Moore is a stout defensive tackle at 6'2” 300 pounds. Solid athlete that was at his best using his spin move in the one on one drills. Mixed in some power but the spin was most effective.

[player_tooltip player_id='2140300' first='Hunter' last='Mosolino'] (Prairie Ridge - 2028)

The 6'4” 250 pound defensive end got to Sunday after qualifying on Saturday. Country strong defensive lineman that has power in his hands. Flashed a nice combination of power and speed to continue to develop moving forward.

Darieon Prescott (Bolingbrook - 2028)

The #2 overall 2028 prospect looks the part with his massive frame, strength, and length. Burst off the edge and moves so well for his size. Even with the best of the best his physical tools and athleticism jump off the field. Drive tackle up field then jumped inside for a win. Speed to power rushing outside of the tackle. Power game plays well inside with his bull rush and hands. Absolute freak show!

[player_tooltip player_id='2083730' first='Jaxson' last='Hutton'] (Providence Catholic - 2029)

The 6'1” 220 pound edge rusher checks in early in the process as one of the premier edge rushers in the 2029 class. Strong frame and plus athleticism with his compact build. Super quick off the edge and has bend which was shown in circle drills. Type writer footwork in bag drills. Explosive use of his hands and has some power coming inside against tackles.
