COLUMBIA | The PRZ Exposure Series South Carolina event at Richland Northeast was an interesting situation for a lot of defenders.

Due to the event's size and the number of players featured, there were a ton of high-value competition reps to go around. The trade-off for that was the chance of fatigue - these guys were going full-out a whole lot over a condensed period of time. It didn't slow them down very much.

Here's a look at some of the defenders who looked good throughout the event.

Up front, there were a couple of DL who absolutely couldn't be overlooked. Newberry's [player_tooltip player_id='2210828' first='Dontavias' last='Griffin'] ran an extremely quick 40 for his size, and used that speed to his advantage in drills as well, with a good shuttle and an even better L drill. In one-on-one competition, Griffin was a tough guy to block thanks to a high motor and a good set of moves. Whale Branch's [player_tooltip player_id='1036772' first='Rahiem' last='Saunders'] overwhelmed a couple of opponents with sheer size and power, but that's not his entire game. He's also got really good feet and the ability to tease the power move to get guys off-balance and then beat them with something else, winning battles both in the interior and off the edge. And Catawba Ridge's [player_tooltip player_id='2212399' first='Xavier' last='Bighem'] wasn't the biggest DL at the camp, but he was certainly one of the most athletic. He looked great in drills, and used his athleticism to win a bunch of one-on-one battles in competition.

Linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='2212349' first='Elijah' last='Smith'] from Westwood certainly looks the part, and he backed it up in drills. He's got really good lateral movement and speed, and he reacted well to the ball in drills. He looked good in coverage, and he's able to cover a lot of ground really quickly and puts himself in a good position. Chapin had a pair of LBs in [player_tooltip player_id='1811070' first='Parker' last='Collins'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2182096' first='Caleb' last='Kreitzer'] who should have the Eagles excited. Both have excellent quickness and showed the ability to diagnose what's going on in a hurry and to react. Collins had an excellent season last year and is a guy who gets it done in the weight room as well, while Kreitzer is likely to see an increased role in his junior year.

The defensive backs were some of the standouts of the camp. Wren's [player_tooltip player_id='2067768' first='Sloan' last='Sanders'] was one of the top guys at the position, flying all over the field. He looked great in press coverage, where his size and physical tools helped him knock guys off of routes early, and he covered well with a couple of PBUs. Gray Collegiate's [player_tooltip player_id='1814158' first='Rj' last='Oliver'] was another player who stood out. Despite limited numbers (and lots of reps) Oliver looked like a lock-down guy at times. He's capable of running with anybody, his coverage skills are off the charts, and he does a really good job of turning and finding the ball and then going to make a play. And Spring Valley's [player_tooltip player_id='1693513' first='Kavion' last='Dawson'] (pictured) was a nightmare matchup for WRs, covering well all over the field. He's fast and has the ability to be physical, and from what we saw on Friday, last year's two interceptions might just be scratching the surface.
