The Prep Redzone Exposure Series made the annual stop in Oklahoma on Sunday. We had some outstanding talent from all over the state in attendance and from some of the surrounding states. We will have a TON of breakdowns on Prep Redzone Oklahoma following the event and a lot of video on our Prep Redzone Oklahoma YouTube Channel this week as well. In this breakdown, we're putting the spotlight on five players that were not on our radar prior to the event and now they are firmly there after their performances on Sunday afternoon in Broken Arrow!

[player_tooltip player_id='2128074' first='Deacon' last='Lyles'] - 2029 Quarterback - Newcastle

We had a really solid quarterback group on Sunday and it was full of names we already knew. Newcastle 2029 signal caller [player_tooltip player_id='2128074' first='Deacon' last='Lyles'] was a new name that we weren't familiar with but he immediately caught our attention. First off, Lyles passes the eye test. He measured in at 6'4 and that was just the beginning. Lyles has an arm where the majority of his throws looked pretty effortless. On several occasions, he was pushing the ball down field 30-40 yards with a simple flick of the wrist. Seeing that from a quarterback that is just now finishing his freshman year was impressive to watch. Lyles got some very limited varsity action last fall but he should be in the mix for the starting gig when the Racers take the field this fall. He's definitely a name we'll be following.

[player_tooltip player_id='2182305' first='Erick' last='Garrido'] - 2028 Defensive Lineman - Cushing

Cushing had several players that stood out in one way or another on Sunday. 2028 defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='2182305' first='Erick' last='Garrido'] was the new name for us to follow moving forward. We watched Garrido go to work during 1 on 1 drills as a defensive end and he was an absolute menace. There were several instances where he was going 1 on 1 with the eventual MVP from the offensive line group and he beat him with speed moves to the inside. We could see that speed and overall burst is a big part of Garrido's game. He's not the biggest defensive lineman but with his speed, being outsized by the guy in front of him never really came into play. The 1 on 1 portion of camp really elevated our opinion of Garrido. We're looking forward to watching more of him moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='2181276' first='Jaelyn' last='Buford'] - 2027 Offensive Lineman - Edmond Santa Fe

We go to the other side of the line of scrimmage for our next new name on the radar. Edmond Santa Fe 2027 offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='2181276' first='Jaelyn' last='Buford'] had a really strong showing during the 1 on 1 session of camp. And we use the word "strong" specifically to talk about Buford. He's an interior offensive lineman that has an incredibly strong base. During these camp settings, where linemen aren't wearing helmets or pads, there are a lot of times where the offensive line is at a disadvantage against bullrush techniques. That wasn't the case for Buford on Sunday. There were a few reps where his opponent tried to go right through him and they got caught up. Buford's combination of strength, hand placement and wide base made him a very tough guy to beat on Sunday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1831234' first='Matthew' last='Sears'] - 2027 Wide Receiver - Bartlesville

2027 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1831234' first='Matthew' last='Sears'] is the first of two Bartlesville Bruins on this breakdown. Similar to Cushing, Bartlesville had quite a few names that kept popping up as some of the best in the camp. Sears was incredibly consistent from start to finish. Sears is that prototypical slot receiver that's shifty and does most of his damage after the catch. But there were several times on Sunday where Sears didn't immediately get separation and had to make tough catches with a defensive back draped all over him. Not only did he do it but he did it at a consistent level throughout the afternoon. Going back and looking at his numbers from last year, Sears was very productive and there's no reason to think that he won't match, if not exceed his production from last year in 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='2198337' first='Price' last='Lusk'] - 2027 Athlete - Bartlesville

Bartlesville 2027 athlete [player_tooltip player_id='2198337' first='Price' last='Lusk'] is right there at the top of the list for breakout stars from Sunday's camp. We knew a little about Lusk heading into the event but we hadn't seen him in person or on film. First off, he immediately passed the eye test from a physical standpoint. Then he went out and was tied for the fastest 40 time at 4.43 seconds and he ran it twice. Lusk tested off the charts and then was dominant during drills. Lusk did a lot of work on the offensive side of the ball but then he would turn around and get plenty of reps on the defensive side. We were told about Lusk's potential prior to the showcase and he absolutely lived up to the hype. We would be very surprised if Lusk doesn't end up becoming one of the breakout stars in 6A-2 for Bartlesville this fall.
