Five 2027 Florida tight ends to keep on eye on

Typically, South Florida does not produce a plethora of tight ends, but the 2027 cycle does have some who could make waves heading into their senior seasons.   Here are five versatile tight ends bound to make plenty of noise on the football field in 2026.    The Miami commit is a multi-sport athlete (basketball and track), and is dangerous at the traditional tight end position or out wide as a receiver. He has tremendous balance at his size and shows superb athletic ability when battling for 50/50 balls in the air.   He rarely loses on fade routes to the corner of the end zone and has shown that he can win consistently against highly skilled defensive backs to get open. He is a solid blocker and uses his legs to drive opponents out of the way, but could still improve in this area to be effective on the college level.     Gervais has the ideal size for the tight end position. The talent from Columbus High School in Miami can make tough catches in traffic and is a matchup nightmare for most linebackers.   Gervais is an effective blocker as he engages his opponents and eliminates them from plays on most snaps. He needs to improve route-running and catching with consistency, but his ceiling is through the roof.     The international talent from Africa, via Canada, has high-level athleticsm that any college would find valuable. His ability to avoid tacklers after making receptions is what makes him special.   He displays great body control and can adjust to errant passes in the air. Keita has above-average strength, which he uses to drive defenders backward on blocks. His route-running could use some sharpening, but he has the potential to develop into a high NFL draft pick.     Proctor is a rare talent. His ability to catch the football is superior to many wide receivers, and his size and strength make him a very tough cover.   The transfer from Miami Southridge is an excellent route-runner for his size and knows how to get open against top-tier defensive backs. Proctor is a solid blocker, but can improve in technique in this area to be more well-rounded. It will, however, be tough to find a better pass-catching tight end in the country.     The talent from Bartram Trail High School has the ideal frame for a successful college tight end and consistently catches passes. Winn can accelerate quickly with the ball in his hands, helping to move the chains.   Winn is a legitimate threat down the seam and can catch the football over-the-shoulder and or turn short screen passes into big gains. He can also effectively block downfield and engages and drives opponents to the ground on occasion.
