Many players want or even expect college offers to start rolling in early in high school. But every recruiting process unfolds at its own pace, and most prospects don't see theirs start gaining notable traction until after their junior season.   A few more rising seniors have earned their first offers during the past few weeks — great developments for their own opportunities ahead, and a nice reminder of patience to younger athletes to trust the process and not get discouraged.   Here's a look at five 2027 standouts on the offensive side of the ball who reported their first offers in late April or early May.     JerZyion Levingston — 6-0, 160 WR/DB — Homer   One of our favorite sleeper prospects in the rising senior class, Levingston seems to have remain largely under-the-radar around the state despite a huge junior campaign for his Pelicans and is a smooth, speedy athlete with good hands who has the potential to be a steal as he continues to develop physically in a college strength program. Louisiana Christian extended his first offer last month.   [player_tooltip player_id='1611386' first='Dashun' last='Lightfoot'] — 5-10, 195 RB — Acadiana   Lightfoot was highly productive at Franklin the past couple of years and firmly on the Prep Redzone Louisiana radar as a future Division-I prospect, but figures to be one of the major breakout candidates to watch this year likely to quickly become a more familiar name to a wider audience. He received a pair of early offers a year ago from NAIA and Division-II programs, but a few Division-I programs have ramped up his recruitment in recent weeks with offers from Lamar, North Alabama, Arkansas State and McNeese State.   [player_tooltip player_id='1612716' first='Peter' last='Lofton'] — 6-2, 300 OL — Alexandria   One of the future signees of the Trojans' deep rising senior class, the right tackle earned all-district honors this fall as a junior in arguably the state's top league in District 2-5A and recently received his first offers from Lamar in late April and Southern in early May. Lofton moves well at his position, but particularly stands out with his power and tenacity from a violent punch to his continued drive through defenders once engaged.   Reggie Trusclair Jr. — 6-2, 270 OL — Plaquemine   The all-district and all-metro selection as a junior, among the returning leaders for the back-to-back Division-II Non-Select semifinalists, is listed the smallest among the offensive linemen here, but also may be the quickest on his feet and all-around most mobile and athletic. Lamar recently became the first program to extend an offer.   [player_tooltip player_id='2085243' first='Griffin' last='Vorhaben'] — 6-6, 295 OL — Jesuit   The Blue Jays' anchor left tackle, a returning all-district first-team performer in the Catholic League, recently reported his first offer from Nicholls State and has also notably been recruited by Cornell and others. Whether he ultimately stays at tackle or slides inside at the next level, Vorhaben is a big, powerful blocker who looks poised to be among the state's Division-I offensive line signees in the cycle.
