Prep Redzone was on hand for the innaugural EDGYTIM Spring Showcase, held in Springfield, IL in The Dome at SHEELS Sports Complex, a field turfed climate controlled environment, where top athletes from across the Land of Lincoln came to measure in and test in the 40, pro shuttle and broad jump. Indy drills preceeded competition periods. These five defensive linemen stood out amongst the group.

Albrecht is an interesting prospect. As a freshman-rising sophomore, he's got a great frame/body type/build. Checked in at 6011 251, testing at 5.73x40, 5.39 pro shuttle, 8'0 broad jump. Primarily took reps on the interior during one on ones and competed at a high level, showing bend, strength, tool box, and hips. Albrecht was highly coachable and has a bright future coming off his first year as a varsity starter.

There wasn't a lot not to like about the way Hanberry went about his business at this event. Checking in at 5065 247, Hanberry was clearly undersized but he went hard and used his build to his advantage. In the testing, he recorded 5.31x40, 5.27 pro shuttle, 8'0 broad jump. During the one on ones, he displayed some natural play strength and agility, was violent with his hands and fluid in his hips, and was hard to handle with his high motor and natural leverage advantage rushing over the ball at the nose.

[player_tooltip player_id='2176962' first='Caleb' last='Morrow'] | East Saint Louis | 2027

Morrow had the best looking frame on the hoof and performed at the highest level during the one on one portion of the afternoon. Morrow stands at 6006 230 and tested at 5.27x40, 5.13 pro shuttle, 8'4 broad jump. Coming off the edge Morrow displayed explosiveness, strength, quickness, and disruption. Schools across multiple divisions should be hot on the trail of Morrow through camp season into the fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='2176977' first='Jake' last='Wallace'] | Nazareth Academy | 2028

Wallace showed up to the event and tested tops amongst the group with a 5.00x40, 4.65 pro shuttle, 8'8 broad jump. He measured in at 5091 217 with a compact looking build typical of an interior defensive lineman. He was quick, sudden, explosive and high motor during one on ones. In a vacuum, Wallace has the ability to compete at the next level. His overall size will limit him to the lower divisions, but this bulldog will absolutely get after it for the program that lands him. He was fun to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1994180' first='Lachlan' last='Smith'] | Marshall | 2028

The good lad had a good day on the interior. Smith measured in at 5097 233 and tested with a 5.41x40, 5.02 pro shuttle, 7'5 broad jump. Playing over the ball and at DL3T, Smith fired off low, used strong hands and arms, and has some lower body strength to him. He also is flexible and tough, as after a particular rep he nearly had his ankle bent in half, popped up and shrugged it off. That alone is worthy of a top performer recognition.
