Bratton is Among Most Electric 2028 Prospects in State

Centralia 2028 Athlete Kenny Bratton Kenny Bratton 6'4" | 185 lbs | ATH Centralia | 2028 State IL is among the premier dual sport athletes in the state along with being a potential D1 hoops recruit.  Electric athlete that is a silky smooth wide receiver. So gifted taking bubble screens and racking up yards after the catch.  Major vertical threat that makes it look easy running downfield past defensive backs.  Crisp route runner that snatches the ball out of the air on passes over the middle.  Major return threat in both the kickoff and return game.  Such a slippery player that weaves in and out of coverage units. We believe he projects best at wide receiver, but does have some tools as a long and rangy safety with size in coverage high pointing and breaking up passes on the back end.  Tackles well in space and flies to the ball on that side.

We caught up with Kenny recently at the Illinois Spring Showcase Camp to see how his sophomore campaign went with Centralia.

“My year this year went good.  I feel I improved a lot on bring the ball in when Archie (Goewey) throws it and being a team player.  Trying to lift us up and go far.”

One of the unique players in the state who projects as a P4 prospect going either way at the next level.

“I play both sides of the ball.  Defensively I think I can be a lot more aggressive tackling.  Offensively I need to improve on my footwork and I think I improved as a lot as a sophomore.”

Does he have a preference?

“I definitely want to play on offense.”

With a strong core of 2028 prospects at Centralia what are they looking forward to the next two seasons?

“It is great.  A lot of kids do not get to experience what we do.  We have a great community that lifts us up and we have great coaches to push us.  It is amazing.”

He has been out to a pair of Big 10 games back in the fall breaking down each of them with Prep Redzone.

“I have been to games at Illinois and Northwestern.”

Illinois

“It was great.  I love the campus and the game was amazing.  I liked what I saw there.  I would definitely be interested in going there if I was offered.”

Northwestern

“The head coach showed a lot of intensity.  He wasn't sugar coating anything.  He let us know things are really strict around there.  It was good to be around a coach like that.”

Bratton checks in as the #12 overall prospect and #2 athlete in the class.
