Some of Oregon's fastest rising stocks (2027)

Here we take a look at a few of Oregon's 2027 athletes who should get a nice bump next time the PRZ rankings are updated. Individuals listed are all over the map ranging from potential D1 guys to small college recruits. Check it..         [player_tooltip player_id='2161173' first='Chase' last='Herrera'] 5-11 175 ATH Harrisburg   Each year there are a few small school athletes who either transfer to a bigger school or blow up at offseason camps. That could be Herrera this year after earning 1st team all-state honors at WR as a junior. We've talked a lot about him recently as he has D1 speed and elite ability after the catch. All of that said as he could end up on the defensive side of the ball at the next level.    [player_tooltip player_id='2171325' first='Jack' last='Haverland'] 5-11 170 Safety Sheldon   Haverland led the team in tackles as a junior with 39 adding 2 INTs as well. They will need his leadership on defense after an uncharacteristic (2-7) season in 2025. Standout 6-5 defensive end Will Haverland is now at OSU and was one of the best in the state a few years back.    [player_tooltip player_id='2111358' first='Royal' last='Clark Carlson'] 6-0 210 OLB Dayton    Carlson is a kid you might not know about playing 3A ball, but he is deserving of recognition. The small school edge rusher made 50 tackles with 4 TFL's for a (9-1) Dayton team. He earned 1st team all-conference and honorable mention all-state honors and will project as one of the top defenders at his classification level next season.    [player_tooltip player_id='1669708' first='Curtis' last='Karr'] 6-1 170 ATH Wilsonville   The 2nd team all-league DB is one of the more underrated players coming back at the 5A level next season. He could have a breakout year with the departure of [player_tooltip player_id='1699751' first='Luke' last='Carli'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1165789' first='Keona' last='Tam'] who combined for 1500+ receiving yards and 26 TDs offensively. Oregon 5A POY candidate [player_tooltip player_id='1359052' first='Trevor' last='Glos'] is back at QB and will continue to put up big numbers with Karr being a primary target. As a junior, he had 11 receptions for 125 yards and 2 TDs, to go with another touchdown on D.    [player_tooltip player_id='1718485' first='Ayden' last='McVey'] 6-3 300 DT/NG Sprague   McVey has limited tape and there are question marks, but the potential is there. He will need to improve from an overall mobility standpoint, but he has shown flashes of promise on the interior, with the Oly's consistently producing some good lineman on both sides of the ball.    [player_tooltip player_id='2162677' first='Tyler' last='Meek'] 6-1 210 LB Grants Pass   When the PRZ rankings are updated Meek will likely make one of the biggest jumps up the board. GP will put up points next year with an elite trio returning, but the D was questionable last season giving up 34 points per game. The standout backer earned 2nd team all-conference honors even after missing the first four games of the season.    [player_tooltip player_id='1742820' first='Hudson' last='Pearson'] 6-2 175 Sandy   The Pioneers should be a legit 5A contender this coming season, featuring one of the fastest teams in the state. Pearson is one of the top track athletes around running 10.9 100 meters with a 23'6 long jump. His size and speed make him an intriguing prospect as part of a Sandy group which already features a handful of athletes ranked in the top 100.    [player_tooltip player_id='2070619' first='Gabriel' last='James Richardson'] 5-9 165 RB/ATH Sunset   Richardson was named the teams most improved player this past season, putting up decent numbers, while going for 100+ yards against Beaverton in week 8. Sunset has a new coaching staff and they will need "gritty" athletes like him to step up.    [player_tooltip player_id='2123821' first='Saxon' last='H Brock'] 6-4 200 DB Ashland   You have to like the size and all the potential. The 6-4 DB made 41 solo tackles with 2 INTs and 10 PBU's last year for the Grizzlies, earning 2nd team all-conference honors. If you are a defensive back with his dimensions, you automatically get looks. Expect his offseason camp performances and film to be crucial from a recruitment standpoint.   [player_tooltip player_id='2181509' first='Samuel' last='Krueger'] 5-9 180 LB Gresham    Krueger earned 1st team all-conference honors as an undersized LB. He is a multi sport standout and a big reason the Gophers improved to (6-4) last season, making 52 tackles, with 10 TFL's, and 2 sacks. Him and Gavin Knobbs will lead the D this coming year.    [player_tooltip player_id='2181511' first='Travyn' last='Ruano'] 5-10 175 ATH/WLB Klamath    One of the better players at the 4A level you probably don't know about. Ruano went for 600+ total yards and 4 TD's and was one of the state's leading tacklers on defense. Depending on what he does this offseason and next year he could be a solid small college addition.    [player_tooltip player_id='2181512' first='Jack' last='Schweitzer'] 5-7 195 LB/S La Salle   The baseball standout isn't going to overwhelm you with his size, but he was one of the better defenders in his conference last season at the 5A level. He finished with 40+ tackles while also doing a good job running the ball with 28 carries and a TD.
