Get 30% off your first billing cycle with code: howe30 in the coupon code area

We made it. During the last few months, Prep Redzone Iowa has updated its 2026-2028 Class rankings and released its initial 2029 Watch List.

More updates will be arriving in the spring as we dig into more film. So, if you haven't yet put together highlights from the 2025 season, there's time to post them before we reevaluate. It will run out quickly, however.

Here's a look at new batch of guys to have on your radar:

I caught Beck in action while he was competing with Hawks WSR at the Back to Ballin 7-on-7 tournament last April in Cedar Falls. He stood out for his accuracy and ball placement in that event. I poked around for film from the 2025 season, his sophomore year, and found a few clips on his Hudl page. On them, we see a young man that does well in throwing on the move. Even when he rolls out, he surveys the whole field and moves quickly through his progressions. Beck is comfortable with a three-step drop and delivering from the pocket with the arm strength to push the ball downfield or fit it into tight windows with zip. He completed both of his varsity throws in 2025, one of them connecting for a touchdown. The starter was a senior, so Beck has a chance to compete for QB1 in the fall.

Boedeker is an interesting prospect flashing potential as a defender and specialist. As a Pleasant Valley sophomore in 2025, he delivered 10.0 tackles, three of which were of the solo variety, for the varsity. He registered 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack and a half, and recovered a fumble. Boedeker punted eight times for a 33.9 average. We don't have a lot to go on from this past season when checking out his Hudl page. Piecing it together with his freshman highlights does show physical and skill growth, however. Boedeker is a long-limbed, athletic defender that flies to the football and arrives with an impact. He's a technically sound tackler, runs well and flashes good instincts. Boedeker is developing in one of the state's top programs for producing talent for the next level, so there's a good chance for a breakout season loading.

Boyd laid the foundation for what could be a breakout campaign in the fall. As a sophomore in 2025, he delivered 24.0 tackles, 14 of which were solo stops. He added 2.5 tackles for loss. Boyd caught five balls for 58 yards and a touchdown, and also chipped in a pair of two-point conversions. He posted clips from several games on his Hudl page. On them, we witness a versatile athlete locked into helping his team wherever he can. Boyd is a willing and able blocker on offense, whether lining up in-line or in the slot. He looks comfortable and capable setting up as a deep safety and coming down hard against the run. Boyd is fast and changes directions well, which leads to him being sticky in coverage.

Crossin got his feet wet on the Iowa Falls-Alden varsity as a sophomore in 2025. He posted modest statistics on both sides of the ball, including a completion on his lone throw, while spending the rest of his time developing on the program's lower level. Crossin posted highlight clips from the season on his Hudl page. They mostly feature him lining up behind center, where he moves well and throws with accuracy on the run. Crossin can stretch the field with a strong arm and does so with touch. A good athlete, he can keep plays alive off of schedule and pick up big yards on the ground. Crossin's speed and elusiveness running the ball leave open the door to playing other positions on the next level.

Curry spent his 10th-grade season of 2025 operating on the Bettendorf sophomore team with a senior handing the starting kicking and punting duties on the varsity. Curry should be in position to win at least one of those gigs in the fall. He shows promise in both specialist disciplines, which we can see watching him kick and punt. It starts with a strong right leg and is enhanced by being technically sound. Kohl's Kicking thinks highly of him, ranking him a four-star and saying about him: At the 2025 Kohl's Midwest Winter Showcase in Chicago, [player_tooltip player_id='1699609' first='Ethan' last='Curry'] built on his fundamentals and gained confidence through competition. He won the punt competition for the Class of 2028 and recorded 6 points during the field goal round. In the kickoff charting, he earned 93.2 points, achieving a top kickoff of 56 yards with a hang time of 3.9 seconds. His control and effort during reps indicated that his training is beginning to take shape in competitive environments.

Waterloo East spent the 2025 developing Elliott on its sophomore team. The step could pay dividends for a prospect that flashes upside on his highlight clips housed on his Hudl page. The Trojans position him at middle linebacker, where he diagnoses plays quickly, flows smoothly and quickly to the football, and packs a punch upon arrival. Elliott embraces the games physicality and gives opponents something to think about when carrying the ball in his area. He looks fast sideline to sideline and gets downhill in a hurry when pursuing. Elliott's athleticism and skill set work well on the second level of the East defense but he would be capable of playing a hybrid or safety in some systems.
