Spring practice is right around the corner. A lot of prospects across Tennessee have emerged and etched their names as stars in their respective classifications. With much of the transfer portal calmed down for now, I'm scouting the top players at each position in each class.

Next in this series, I'll discuss Division II-A, beginning with wide receivers. Here's a scouting report of my top five pass catchers in DII-A.

2027 [player_tooltip player_id='933063' first='Kaden' last='Grigsby'] – Nashville Christian

[player_tooltip player_id='933063' first='Kaden' last='Grigsby'] was Nashville Christian's leading receiver in 2025, catching 39 passes for 635 yards (16.3 yards per catch) and 10 touchdowns in 13 games. It was a good junior campaign, but he's been productive every year for NCS, totaling over 1,600 career receiving yards.

He's a versatile receiver who mainly lines up inside, but can do whatever is needed from him. The Eagles have used him on screens, RPOs, deep shots, short stuff and intermediate passes. He's a compact player, standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 185 pounds, but is highly athletic, plays with a big motor, is a good route runner and has solid hands.

I love do-it-all players like Grigsby who can change the game in so many areas. He's one of the top receivers in Tennessee for 2027 and has one more season to prove himself to scouts.

2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2131341' first='Jacob' last='Snider'] - University School of Jackson

University School of Jackson had an elite run game last season, taking away some opportunities for the receivers. [player_tooltip player_id='2131341' first='Jacob' last='Snider'] was still able to make a significant impact as a deep shot specialist, catching 10 passes for 321 yards and four touchdowns.

He's an intriguing prospect who plays both ways, excelling on defense as a Prep Redzone All-State selection at defensive back this past season. But I love his upside as a receiving threat. The rising senior offers a solid build with speed, athleticism and excellent burst.

Snider only caught 10 passes in 2025, but he's someone who could have a huge senior season for USJ.

2029 [player_tooltip player_id='1031934' first='Dasani' last='Moulden'] – Concord Christian School

Concord Christian is home to a pair of top 2029 in-state wide receiver prospects, but the best one is [player_tooltip player_id='1031934' first='Dasani' last='Moulden']. He had a standout freshman campaign, catching 48 passes for 734 yards and six scores in all 11 games. The rising sophomore lacks big size, standing 5-foot-7 and weighing 150 pounds, but possesses some of the best physical tools for his position and class.

Moulden boasts a 4.57 40-yard dash, a 35” vertical and a 4.37 shuttle time, while being strong for his size. On the field, he's one of the most versatile players in the state. CCS uses him in many ways, including screens, deep shots and short stuff that allows him to beat opposing players with his tremendous athleticism.

He also has good hands and high-points the football well in contested battles. Moulden is a smaller guy, but he has a ton of potential. Once he becomes more polished in certain areas and grows physically, he'll be a nightmare to stop.

2029 [player_tooltip player_id='1544621' first='Donovan' last='Underwood'] – Concord Christian School

[player_tooltip player_id='1544621' first='Donovan' last='Underwood'] is Concord Christian's other big-time 2029 receiver, catching 24 passes for 570 yards and nine scores while being productive on special teams. He offers good size for his age, standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 160 pounds. Underwood puts it to good use, consistently making contested catches.

He's a bigger body for a freshman, but he also possesses excellent athleticism and speed. The CCS receiver is a good route runner who's shown the ability to create separation, even against good defensive backs in his classification. He only needs a sliver of space, and the 2029 prospect can make just about every catch.

I love Underwood's tape and see him as one of the better in-state receivers for his class. This program has a plethora of talented underclassmen, making it a fun one to follow.

2027 Lake Helton – Trinity Christian Academy

Trinity Christian Academy lost its top receiving option, but returns a good second option in Lake Helton, who will get a ton of targets this upcoming season. He was fairly productive in his junior season, catching 23 passes for 402 yards and six scores.

The rising senior is an intriguing prospect due to his size and other physical tools. He stands a staggering 6-foot-5 and weighs 200 pounds, making him one of the biggest receivers in DII-A.

Helton is a big-play machine, showing solid speed and route running for his size, but also the ability to make tough grabs over just about everybody.

He needs to become more explosive, but he already has many of the tools college coaches look for. The 2027 athlete could be a breakout candidate in his final year of high school ball if he can tweak a few things about his game.
