Day 1 of the Battle in the Bluegrass State is in the books, and we're taking a look at the division as a whole and what teams stood out as we enter day 2.

3-0 Teams:

Da Guyz 14U: They will enter day two 3-0. They were the 2nd-highest-scoring team of the day and gave up the 4th-most points. Explosive, but can give up the big play over the top.

Kentuckiana Blitz 14U: This team is incredibly talented. They are stacked on both sides of the ball. They scored the 2nd most points and gave up the least amount of points. They are well-coached and could be a tough out.

Southeast 7 14U: These guys are well coached and have good discipline. They have some elite athletes on the outside who can flip the field in a flash. They were the #1 scoring team on the day with a top 5 defense in scoring allowed.

Middle TN Elite Bombers 14U: This team is incredibly scrappy. They had a comeback and kept swinging even in the heat of the fire. They had a top 4 scoring offense and the #1 defense day 1. They're an energetic bunch who could steal the show if they get rolling.

2-1 Teams:

Ohio Players 14U: Their offense can get hot and catch fire at any second. There are times they can stall out, but when they get rolling and into a groove and start rolling. Offense and defense can have hot and cold streaks, but they typically find a way.

Made 7v7 14U Team 1: This group hasn't played its best ball yet, but they still won 2 of their 3 games. They have a good defense that flies around and makes plays. Offense struggled today, but they have a ton of talent that can pop at any second.

SOKY Elite 14U: The Southern Kentucky team had 1 of the best games out of any team today, and then it had a fairly flat game. The talent is there; they just need to be consistent on Sunday, and they could win the whole thing.

1-2 Teams:

Quarterboys 14U: They had an up-and-down day while having a handful of close games. The 1-2 record doesn't tell the full story. They have speed on the outside to score from anywhere, and with the 5th-best offense of the day, the scoring is there; they just need a few more stops.

270 Made 14U: This group had a tough schedule, but they competed in every game. The offense was hit and miss, and the defense could get beaten over the top, but it was a little thing here and a little thing there that made the difference.

Made 7v7 14U Team 2: The "B" team if you will for Made 7v7 has a good offense and some skilled players that stand out. The offense can get rolling when the ball is spread around. They got much better in games 2 and 3. I think they could surprise on Day 2.

Bredwinners Academy 14U: The Bredwinners ended the day with a positive scoring differential. They had 1 bad game with a big loss, a good game with a big win, and a close loss. They were hot, cold, and lukewarm. Day 2 is a good chance for them to be consistent.

KY Elite 859 14U: Kentucky Elite had 2 tough matchups where they lost by double digits and then had a close game where they won by 3. The offense was hot and cold, and the defense struggled in long spurts. There's no doubt the offense has talent and can score.

Grab Dat Academy 14U: Grab Dat had a tough schedule. They played later in the morning, had an hour off, then 2 games in a row. They squeaked out a 12-11 win in the first of their back-to-backs, but it was the middle of the day and the sun was beating down.

0-3 Teams:

Louisville Dream 14U: They ended the day 0-3 but lost the very first game of the day on a controversial moment. All 3 of their losses were by 9 total points and they played the toughest schedule. This 0-3 record doesn't tell the story of how good this team is.

GJ Speed 14U White: The offense struggled today and never truly found a rhythym. They seem like they have much more talent than their record suggests. They lost by 1 to Kentuckiana is arguably the best game of the day.

GJ Speed 14U Green: 2 of their 3 games came down to the final possesion. They lost 2 games by a total of 4 points and played some of the 3-0 teams and 2-1 teams. The talent is there and they could be a sneaky out on Day 2.
