I take a look at a few 2027 Underclassmen names that are ones to know going into this spring. They all had strong junior years and while they have limited college interest currently they will be highly rated prospects going into their senior years. Expect all these players to be making newcomer appearances in the upcoming 2027 rankings this month as well.

Raph is a DL prospect that came on strong towards the end of the year MIAA Champions Spalding. He has good size and build at 6'3" 280 and can play as an odd Front DE or DT. With an athletic lean build, Raph carries his weight well on plays on his toes. He brings good energy and high motor on the field, pursuing and running down ball carriers. At the POA Bonfoh gets good power from his hips. Able to push blockers back and collapse & shed to get to the ball. He also flashes nice get off and fights through contact with active hands to win at the line of scrimmage.

With nice size and athleticism look for Raph to showcase well this spring/summer at camps and start to garner strong interest from FBS/FCS schools.

Chamonte is an electric playmaker for Patterson Mill, getting it done at both sides of the ball at RB and S. At RB Chamonte has breakaway speed, able to get to the outside turn the corner and out run defenders up the sideline. Possessing quick hips/feet, he has excellent twitch to make defenders miss in tight windows. Once he gets the ball in his hands Chamonte accelerates quickly with good burst. He also adds value as a receiver as well, either split out in the slot or out the backfield. On defense Chamonte is ball hawk back at S. He tracks the ball well and attacks, racking up multiple interceptions and is able to get big returns.

I do like Chamonte best as a RB as a prospect with his playmaking ability with the ball in his hands. A high academic kid as well, look for academic FCS/D3 schools to be seeing Chamonte this spring.

An impact wide receiver from the slot, Emmanjuel had a huge junior season for Marriotts Ridge. On the year he had 49 catches for 740 yards, equally an over 15 ypc. He also added 9 TDs and over 1,000 APY for his team.

Emmanjuel is a smooth WR who can play both out wide or in the slot but features as a weapon from the slot. He stretches the field and easily gets behind the defense consistently. A playmaker after the catch, Emmanjuel gets good YAC and can slip past tacklers. He also showcases a big catch radius for his size. A strong leaper being a basketball player as well - he will go up and high point the ball with good body control and athleticism. Don't let his overall size/frame confuse you, Emmanjuel is a baller who will showcase well in camps this summer.

Peyton is a key member of the Urbana D, looking to take his junior success into a big senior year. At MLB he had 67 total tkls with 5 TFLs and 3 sacks. With a good frame and build I can see Peyton coming in at 220lbs for his senior season. He shows good instincts as a ILB. Quick to read the play, he reacts and close on the ball quickly. Physical enough to find his way through the mess and slip past blockers and shoot gaps to make the tackle. While mainly a ILB, Peyton shows good lateral movement and fluid hips too. Able to plays in space or come off the edge with a strong rush.

Showing nice potential as well as being a high academic prospect with a 4.1 GPA. Peyton is definitely an under the radar 2027 prospect right now who could be set for a big season.

El'Lias had a break out Junior year for Washington HS and helped them to one of their best seasons in some time and first playoff victory since 2003. A big reason for that was El'Lias and the offense. He rushed for 1218 Yds on 194 Carries, and 9 TDs. That was accomplished in just 9 games for an average of 135 Yards per game and 6.3 ypc.

With a frame and build thatshould fill out will with nice muscle, expect E'Lias to be a muscled up back. He showcases quick, active feet while also running hard. Will lower the shoulder and initiate contact when necessary. He is also slippery back, able to create his own space and get those extra yards. Shows a good juke move, makes strong cuts and can can make guys miss in space & change angles/speeds.

Making All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2025, expect for El'Lias to be a top back in the Bayside next season.

Yovanny is a player who may be under the radar right now but shouldn't be for long. I expect him to be on a lot of college coaches radars this spring/summer and poised for a impactful senior year.

He's got elite size, frame and length for his position. Saw him live earlier this year against State runner-ups Sherwood and he showed nice get off and burst to the ball. Yovanny is a physical player with a solid motor. He attacks and can explode to the ball carrier and hit through them with aggression.

He will be on many colleges want to get eyes on in the spring/summer. If he can continue to fill out his frame adding bulk & strength, Yovanny could easily develop into a scholarship player and a top pass rusher in the state next year.
