The State of Georgia had a Bye week before their playoffs began so it gave me a chance to head west and watch the opening Round of the Alabama 6A playoffs. I picked a good one. The Gadsden City Titans defeated the Jasper Vikings 40-37 in a game that went down to the final minute. Below are a few of the Titans that caught my eye on Friday.

I was very impressed with Sollie. The 6'3 Soph QB was poised in the pocket and had outstanding accuracy and delivered the ball into tight spots 40+ yards down the field. A fast decision maker that gets the ball out of his hand quick. He had 3 TD throws that covered 50+ yards and fit those passes into a tight window. The Soph had a very efficient night completing 8 of 11 passes for 255 yards with 3 TDs. Sollie is already ranked as the #5 QB in the 2028 Class and if Friday is any indication the sky is the limit for this young man.

Harris was a long, lean speedster out of the backfield for the Titans. He was tough between the tackles and is not afraid to put his head in there and gain some tough yards. His bread and butter was when he hit the edge and got behind the defense. A track star in the open field that was impossible to catch from behind in the open field. He broke off a 67-yd TD run in the 2nd half, out running defenders on his heels. A reported 4.4 runner with a recorded 11.05 100m time. Harris is a back to keep an eye on this offseason and going into the 2026 season.

Curry is a big target on the underneath routes for the Titans. He does a great job getting open and is fearless in traffic. He has some nice moves with the ball in his hands and is able to get up to top speed quickly. Curry is listed at 6'1 175 and has a verified 22 mph speed on the Catapult system. He has the size, speed, hands and grades to be a diamond in the rough prospect in this recruiting cycle.

Yow entered the game as the 43rd overall WR/DB prospect in the 2026 Class. After Friday night I can see why. The 5'10 ATH has good speed and is physical on the defensive side of the ball. He showed his speed on the opening play of the 2nd half, returning a kickoff 75 yards for a TD, breaking several tackles and weaving his way through the defense. Yow has a verified 23.2 time on the Catapult system and ran a 10.8 100m last Spring. He received an offer from UAB last Fall and has interest from Troy and UTC among others.

I kept my eye on Gibson quite a bit Friday as he was the only player I knew coming into the game. He is the #1 Ranked DB by PRZN and is a Alabama Crimson Tide commit. I didn't get a chance to get a feel for his play on Friday at the DB position because Jasper avoided throwing in his direction. However, I did get to see his speed and athleticism on display as he caught a long TD pass to open the 4th Q. You can't miss the fact that he has obvious elite speed.
