Analyzing the Rankings: Breaking Down More 2027 Ranking Additions

Cook is a strong run blocker and flashes nastiness; a tough, gritty mentality as he drives defenders off the ball and finishes blocks. He can pancake defenders and be extremely physical latching and driving them to the sideline and taking them fo a ride. More of an athletic dual-threat, Manley displays a quick release and flashes some good touch on the deep ball. I really like Shelby's run blocking skills; he displays good latch and hand placement, effectively driving his feet on contact and knocking back defenders on their heels. Shelby, like [player_tooltip player_id='1939829' first='Austin' last='Ashurst'] (below), probably translates to guard at the college level just from a size and frame perspective. The 5-foot-11, 240-pound OT keeps very active feet and hands. He has a quick first step and is a good puller/blocker in the run game. Ashurst flashes being a mauler, rag-dolling defenders to the ground with his strong upper body. Runs feet on contact and finishes well, toughness gives him a spot in our rankings.
