Iona Prep Film Study

Iona Prep fell short in a comeback effort against the Monsignor Farrell Lions on Friday Night. Despite the loss, multiple players stood out on film. The Iona Prep RB, is heading to UNC, for Lacrosse and Football next year, and had himself a good game in close loss.   Davis was elite, in the receiving and passing game. He has excellent footwork, and found himself hitting the a-gap with speed and strength. Davis is hard to tackle, and has great size for the position, allowing him to attack with contact.     Wolf has had himself a good season, leading the team in receiving yards. While the passing game was limited, Wolf still found himself involved.   Wolf had a few catches during the game, accumulating around 50 yards. He displayed good route running, and I like him in the short/intermediate passing routes. He has good hands, and fought hard through contact all night.     Pirrello, found himself leading the team in yards Friday night, in a game where Iona relied heavily on the running game. He is a solid receiver who can be deadly when hot.   Pirrello, found himself with over 50 yards in the loss Friday. The 5'9 Senior, was elite with his routes, and had great footwork, planting his feet to change directions. He made multiple diving catches, and showcased good hands throughout the game.     The Iona Prep O-Line held their own, allowing 0 sacks during the night, despite multiple pressures. The Line flourished in the run game, with over 100 yards on the ground.   Dinapoli, is the first O-Line man who stood out to me on Friday night. I like his size, and he displayed decent strength. He showcase good leverage, and he moved his defenders to create gaps across the line throughout the game for the Gaels.     Mulaj is a raw prospect who has unlimited potential. Standing 6'8" 300-Pounds, he is visible from either sideline on a football field.   Mulaj took a solid number of snaps throughout the game, where his footwork, and strength. He was immovable off the left side for the Gales. His hands could use work, but he is a future top prospect.     [player_tooltip player_id='741084' first='Lamar' last='Lewis'], is one of the many dual-threat, and multi position athletes the Gaels have. The Junior, was seen mainly as a special teams player, and WR.   Lewis is raw, and buried with the depth of the Gaels; however, he made multiple good plays for the Gaels. As a WR, he showcased, a good speed, with elite footwork. He is young, and should make his way into the gameplay more nest season.     Simmons is my favorite prospect on this Gaels team. Before the game he picked up an Offer from Army, and for a good reason.   He mainly plays on the EDGE for the Gales, but can be used as a TE in blocking and trick plays. He had elite footwork, and showed a good tool bag of moves which allowed him to reach the backfield. Simmons is a potential P4 prospect who needs to be more violent with his rushes.     Malespin is one of my top guys at the O-Line position in the Catholic League. He played mainly center for the Gaels and had a good performance.   The majority of the runs for the Gaels went through the A-gap, which was in part to the gaps created by Malespin. He had great leverage throughout the game, and showcased elite strength that helped him create gaps.     Farrell was another unstoppable force for the Gaels D-Line on Friday Night. The Junior had multiple plays where he reached the backfield.   Farrell found himself double teamed on a few rushes throughout the game. I like his motor, and he attacks the line with anger and strength. He has a good blend of strength and hands, but needs to develop his pass rushing tool bag more. He is a raw upcoming DL.     [player_tooltip player_id='741078' first='Mamadee' last='Sangaray'] is the definition of a Swiss army knife. He can play anywhere on this Gaels team, and was used in multiple positions.   Sangaray had a nice run, where he displayed good speed, and vision finding the sideline, and staying in bounds for a big gain. On the defensive side of the ball, I liked his footwork, and Pursuit, he also had some nice tackles where he showed good form.     Dellarosa, was a guy who was not at the top of my board, but had himself an impressive performance from the LB position for the Gaels.   Dellarosa, had excellent vision throughout the game, and made multiple tackles. He is a sideline-sideline guys, and was displayed a high motor to reach the ball carrier. I like the Gaels senior a-lot.
