He is a downhill north and south runner that gets behind his pads, runs with a low hat and looks for contact in the hole with contact balance and leg drive through tacklers. He moves well for his size and has some lateral twitch to make defenders miss and is light on his feet through traffic while also showing he can catch the ball out of the backfield and is stellar in pass protection. He is a long strider that chunks yards downfield and can create seperation while tough to bring down in the open due to contact balance and a strong lower half. He is a very physical player with the ball in his hands and is another prospect that has a rare combination of size, speed and overall fluidity both after the catch and in his routes. He is a twitchy and elusive ball carrier with quick feet through the hole, start/stop abilities and runs hard for his size with lower body strength and tremendous contact balance in traffic. He flashes smooth route running abilities, strong hands with tracking abilities over the top and can create seperation downfield while having home-run speed in the clear. He is also effective in the return game on special teams showing vision in space with cutback abilities and forcing bad angles by tacklers. He has already hit the 1,000 yard rushing marker and is averaging over 7 yards per carry with 12 touchdowns on the ground. He is a elusive and twitchy runner with a strong initial burst, open field speed in the clear and can make tacklers miss with short are twitch and agility. He can play either in the slot or backfield at the next level, and is a no-brainer college caliber player at the D3+ level and could make a positive impact on a college roster. Stephens moves well for his size and has good feet in traffic when navigating in-between the tackles and can even provide some pass catching duties in the flats as well.
