He is a dynamic and explosive playmaker that is always dangerous with the ball in his hands and can impact the game in all three phases. He has natural ball skills, downfield seperation abilities, strong hands in traffic and can win on contested balls while a elite defender as well with tremendous natural instincts. So far this year offensively, he has accounted for 1,100 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground, while tacking on another 314 receiving with 5 scores. He is a very strong runner that excels after the catch and is physical with the ball in his hands while having a quick burst and long strides to chunk yardage in the open field. He flashes the ability to get off man coverage, create seperation downfield and has good highpoint abilities and boxes out smaller defenders when making a play on the ball. He has a strong burst through the firs level and vision in tight windows, shows cutback abilities and can break tackles in the hole while also a natural runner that gets behind his pads and can gain tough yards inside. He has the lateral agility and quickness to bounce it when needed and is tough to get down once in the open field. Phillips is also an excellent open field pass catcher that runs crisp routes and has natural hands while able to stick his toe in the ground and get vertical quickly. He has amassed 758 yards rushing, another 350+ receiving and a total of 22 touchdowns so far heading into the final week of the regular season. He shows he can move quickly through his progressions and throw on the run across his body, and tosses a tight spiral with good velocity and touch over the top when dropping it away from defenders. He leads his receivers open, shows proper ball placement and navigates the pocket without taking off too soon and keeping his eyes downfield without panicking. His plus athletic ability and improvising skills make him a intriguing prospect that should get picked up here late.
