Week 3 of the New  Mexico high school football season was filled with plenty of outstanding performances. Added 1 pass defended and 1 blocked field goal. Manual Chavarria, Bloomfield: Nicknamed ‘Peanut, the senior QB averaged 35 yards per completion as he threw for over 350 yards and six touchdowns in a lopsided victory over Miyamura. Great win for Santa Rosa.       Devon Chavez, Estancia: Just a freshman, Chavez rushed for 145 yards and 1 TD on 17 carries in Estancia's loss to Tularosa. Goitia has double digit tackles in all three games this season. Through 3 games, he's completed 60.3 percent of his passes for 653 yards and 6 TD. [player_tooltip player_id='851873' first='Jordan' last='Kekoa Hatch'], Cleveland: Completed 10-of-11 passes for 273 yards and 6 TD in the Storm's mercy-rule win over Clovis. Hatch vs. Las Cruces defense will be great theater in Week 4. Probably Herrera, who's hidden in the mountains of northern New Mexico in the Land of Oppenheimer. Rushed for 233 yards and 5 TD on just 19 carries in a big win over local rival Pojoaque Valley. [player_tooltip player_id='1155082' first='Raul' last='Lopez'], Chaparral: Sparked the Lobos offense in a convincing win over Sanat Teresa with 110 yards rushing on 15 carries and 1 TD.          [player_tooltip player_id='1709925' first='Josiah' last='Madrid'], Silver: Led Silver to a big road victory over Deming in the annual ‘Battle of 180' game. Madrid was 20-for-35 passing for 364 yards and five touchdowns with 0 interceptions.   [player_tooltip player_id='1613664' first='Santos' last='Martinez'], Robertson: Led the Cardinals defense with 13 tackles in their low-scoring loss to Santa Rosa.   [player_tooltip player_id='1679730' first='Gavin' last='McPherson'], Hobbs: Made 14 tackles with 1 fumble recovery in Hobbs' win over Roswell.   [player_tooltip player_id='1672376' first='Jeremiah' last='Mackey'], Hobbs: 8 tackles, 3 TFL and 4 QB hurries in Hobbs' win over Roswell.   [player_tooltip player_id='1605057' first='Junior' last='Medrano'], Hobbs: The Eagles QB completed 17-of-27 passes for 240 yards and 1 TD + 223 rushing yards and 2 TD on 18 carries in their home win over Roswell. 463 total yards. Impressive numbers for the junior dual threat QB.   Greyson Meek, Eunice: Performed well on both sides of the ball in Eunice's win over NMMI. Caught 5 passes for 102 yards on offense and made 11 tackles on defense.   [player_tooltip player_id='854273' first='Elijah' last='Melancon'], Eunice: Melancon continued his strong start to the 2025 season by completing 16-of-24 passes for 426 yards and 6 TD in an impressive 50-20 win over NMMI. Melancon is less than 100 yards from the career 9,000-yard passing mark. He also made 10 tackles on defense. Against Mayfield, he leaped over several Trojan defenders and raced the final 20 yards for a 52-yard catch-and-run for the improved Knights. Added another Td catch later in the game.   Aurelius Wiley, Volcano Vista: Completed 17-of-23 passes for 217 yards and 1 TD + 73 yards rushing on 13 carries in Volcano Vista's big win over Sandia.
