<p>The season has QUICKLY flown by as we are now at the halfway point! Over the past five weeks, there have been many exciting games, players, and moments that have caught everyone's attention. This week, instead of just posting our PRZNE Class Rankings on Instagram, I decided to provide a quick breakdown, including a look at how the season has progressed so far for each of the Top 10 teams.</p>

<p>1 - Dundy County-Stratton (5-0): Despite not being 100% healthy, the Dundy County-Stratton Tigers have held on to their preseason #1 ranking with a 5-0 record at the midway point. The Tigers have been impressive in each of their wins, winning each game by double-digit margins. They have wins over Perkins County (46-16), #5 Bridgeport (42-16), Sutherland (48-0), Hi-Line (32-14), and Arapahoe (55-0).</p>

<li>Remaining schedule: @ North Platte St. Patrick's (4-1), @ Alma (2-3), and Southern Valley (2-3).</li>

<p>2 - Shelby-Rising City (5-0): The Huskies have been dominant through five weeks, including a huge Week 2 win over reigning D1 champions #3 Sandy Creek (32-14). Their other four opponents have combined for only 18 points, as they have beaten Freeman (54-8), EMF (46-10), Heartland (38-0), and East Butler (66-0) with comfortable margins.</p>

<p>3 - Sandy Creek (4-1): The reigning D1 champions have hardly missed a step since their championship season despite losing a great deal of production. Instead, they have turned around and beaten great teams en route to a 4-1 record. So far, they have beaten Johnson-Brock (56-26), Alma (68-26), Tri County (48-8), and #6 Thayer Central (45-22), with their only loss coming to #2 Shelby-Rising City.</p>

<p>4 - Plainview (4-1): The Plainview Pirates have done an excellent job of weathering a difficult schedule (every team has a winning record) to achieve a 4-1 record, with strong wins behind them. They have beaten 4-1 Pender (29-26), 4-1 Wisner-Pilger (40-16), 3-2 Elkhorn Valley (63-20), and 3-2 Summerland (41-7), with their sole defeat coming against Crofton (38-26).</p>

<li>Remaining schedule: @ Laurel-Concord-Coleridge (2-3), Stanton (1-4), and Lutheran High Northeast (1-4).</li>

<p>5 - Bridgeport (4-1): The Bulldogs have recovered nicely after their Week 2 loss to #1 Dundy County-Stratton (42-16), reeling off three consecutive wins over teams like Sandhills Valley (55-14), Perkins County (3-2), and Kimball (70-6). You also have to mention their impressive season opener win over 4-1 North Platte St. Patrick's (44-28) as part of their resume.</p>

<li>Remaining schedule: @ Morrill (0-5), #9 Hemingford (5-0), and @ Sutherland (1-4).</li>

<p>6 - Thayer Central (4-1): The Thayer Central Titans take a slight tumble in the rankings after their first loss of the season, coming at the hands of the reigning D1 champions, #3 Sandy Creek (45-22). However, that doesn't undo the impressive string of wins they have racked up so far, including Heartland (66-14), Centennial (66-0), Lourdes Central Catholic (28-14), and Sutton (20-0).</p>

<p>7 - Ravenna (5-0): The Ravenna Bluejays have taken advantage of a favorable schedule as they've raced to a 5-0 start to the season. Along the way, they have taken down Alma (64-26), Elm Creek (58-22), Hi-Line (54-14), Pleasanton (36-20), and Sandhills Valley (68-12).</p>

<p>8 - Wausa-Osmond (5-0): The Tigers catapult into the Top 10 after knocking off former unbeaten, #10 Bloomfield (36-22). They have been playing complementary football on offense and defense, which has resulted in convincing wins against Wakefield (62-14), Stanton (30-14), Homer (54-14), and Boyd County (42-6).</p>

<p>9 - Hemingford (5-0): Few teams in the 8-man ranks are playing stingier defense than Hemingford, which has posted three consecutive shutouts and has only allowed 26 through five games. South Loup (44-18) and Hyannis (58-8) are the only two teams to score on them, with Bayard (64-0), Kimball (68-0), and Morrill (58-0) all being held scoreless.</p>

<p>10 - Bloomfield (4-1): The Bloomfield Bees might've fallen from the ranks of the unbeaten, but remain in our Top 10 for another week. Despite their Week 5 loss to undefeated Wausa-Osmond (36-22), they have a strong resume with a big win over Crofton (30-18) and three straight shutouts to start the season against Stanton (30-0), TCNE (68-0), and Wakefield (64-0).</p>
