Each week we will break down the state's Top 15 and give point spreads and predictions for each contest. Look for 5A to be added in the following weeks.

#3 Central Catholic @ #1 Lake Oswego (-8)

[player_tooltip player_id='402416' first='Lamarcus' last='Bell'] went for 178 yards and 3 TDs last week on only 12 carries in his return from injury. That said as CC was impressive in their road win over Central Catholic, California with everyone contributing. The Lakers don't really have a weakness on either side of the ball so if the Rams want to pull off the upset they will need to play mistake free for 48 minutes.

(-44) #2 West Linn @ Sherwood #13

Expect a 28-0 1st quarter or something close to that. Jr. QB [player_tooltip player_id='937233' first='Sloan' last='Baker'] looked polished against a decent Hawaii team in week zero with the Lions playing like the reigning state champs. The Bowmen are still a top 15 team, but this should be over early.

South Salem @ #4 Tualatin (-46.5)

The T Wolves played OK in there 13-7 win over #6 Jesuit, but do have one of the best young core groups in the NW. Baseball standout [player_tooltip player_id='402419' first='Owen' last='Hagerman'] looked outstanding at QB which was one of the team's biggest question marks with BYU commit Nolan Keeney graduating. The Saxons lost to North Salem, so this is another ball game which will likely be over early.

BYE- #5 Lakeridge

Tigard @ #6 Jesuit (-21)

All everything D1 athlete [player_tooltip player_id='770006' first='Joe' last='Stimpson'] didn't play in last week's 13-7 loss to #4 Tualatin with Jr. RB [player_tooltip player_id='1591586' first='Luke' last='Ortner'] picking up the slack and going for 200+. The Tigers are a good but inexperienced team who probably shouldn't have lost to Sunset. This will be a telling contest if they are going to compete in the brutally tough TRL.

#12 Grants Pass @ Willamette #7 (-8.5)

GP battled and got a nice 21-18 win over a North team that had gone 4-0 and beaten the Cavemen by a combined score of 145-49 over the last four seasons. This will be a test with the Wolverines featuring numerous D1 guys and looking the part in their 34-7 win over South Medford last week.

#8 Nelson @ Newberg #9 (Even)

I had Newberg listed as the Pacific Conference title favorite heading into the season and they backed that up in there 50-9 route of Canby last week. Nelson had what looked like the upset of the year to start the season against Lakeridge but got blasted by Idaho's #5 team Timberline. Junior WR [player_tooltip player_id='937176' first='Malachi' last='Garlington'] has been one of the state's breakout performers for the Hawks. I think it will come down to Nelson's defense and whether or not they show up against 3 year all conference starters [player_tooltip player_id='1110920' first='Parker' last='Sellner'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1569401' first='Ethan' last='Hein'].

#11 Oregon City @ Mountainside #10 (-8.5)

OC has improved as a program and they have some depth. Mountainside had a tough week 1 against Lakeridge but they have legit dudes, led by D1 QB [player_tooltip player_id='1232699' first='Cade' last='Mitchell'] and 2x 1st team all-Metro RB [player_tooltip player_id='1094961' first='Jordan' last='Hicks']. Expect this to be decided in the 4th quarter.

McMinnville @ #14 Sandy (-39)

I had Sandy upsetting 2x 5A state champ Wilsonville last week but they couldn't hold on in the 34-27 loss. The Pioneers have a real shot to compete in the Mt Hood with all league talent everywhere.

Roosevelt @ #15 Sunset (-9)

I said Roosevelt would be in contention against Sherwood last week and they almost pulled off the comeback of the century. They will compete for a PIL title and could keep it close with a Sunset team who had their own clutch win 49-45 against Tigard last week.
