We revealed the updated 2027 Prospect Rankings on Monday night. In Part 1 of a series, here are some of the Fastest Stock Risers (listed in alphabetical order):

[player_tooltip player_id='1605059' first='Bryson' last='Bloom'], Alamogordo: Likely to play an integral role on a vastly improved Alamogordo team in 2025, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound Bloom has emerged as one of the top young defensive backs in the state. He's fast (4.52 in 40), a ballhawk and great tackler. Last season he made 70 tackles. He's also expected to see significant action at running back for the Tigers this season after averaging over 10 yards per carry in 2024. Major impact on both sides of the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1155012' first='Curtis' last='Flakes III'], St. Pius X: The Sartans have an abundance of riches at the WR position with Flakes expected to be one of the top producers. He's also an elite cornerback, and that's the position he could end up playing at the next level. Runs the 40 in 4.46 seconds. He was so impressive at the Eastern New Mexico camp in June that Greyhound coaches swiftly offered when the camp ended. Flakes will make plenty of noise over the next two years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1604943' first='Ruiz' last='Laborin'], Centennial: Some Centennial fans may be wondering what will happen at the QB position in the wake of Zaiden Davis' graduation. They should know all is well. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Laborin will bring a different dynamic to the gridiron but he showed during camping season that he possesses the right skill set. He has tremendous pocket presence and a rifle arm. Laborin and the Hawks will be tested immediately with a Week 1 home clash against defending 6A champion Cleveland.

[player_tooltip player_id='1637643' first='Wyatt' last='Lohr'], Cleveland: Cleveland's offensive line promises to be one of the best in the state this season with at least four talented next level worthy prospects in the trenches. The 6-foot-1, 280-pound Lohr is one of them as he showed during an impressive camping season. He's big, mobile, moves his feet and uses his hands well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1183085' first='Monty' last='Melendez'], La Cueva: Another fan base wondering what's going to happen at QB is La Cueva. After all, the Bears' last two QBs are Aidan Armenta and Cameron Dyer, both now playing for FBS schools. Melendez showed during camping season that he'll get the job done at a school where playing in the 6A state championship game is expected. He promises to be a dynamic dual threat QB. He'll face a tough defense in Volcano Vista in Week 1.

[player_tooltip player_id='1606138' first='Amryn' last='Wheeler'], Hobbs: One of the most underrated defensive players in the state, the 6-foot-3, 225-pound Wheeler is rapidly climbing the rankings. As a sophomore in 2024, he had 50 tackles, 9.0 TFL and 19 QB hurries to spark the Hobbs defense. He followed up with an impressive camping season at numerous stops. With his size, speed and skills, it's only a matter of time before the offers start coming for Wheeler.

Sophomore season highlights!

10 Games played

70 tackles/55 solo tackles/2 forced fumbles/ 2 PBU

19 rushes/193 yards /2 TD@CoachCiscoAHS @_BrettyB @PrepRedzoneNM https://t.co/D7JsFFDoEk
— [player_tooltip player_id='1605059' first='Bryson' last='Bloom'] (@BrysonBloom) November 3, 2024

Another impressive QB today at the WNMU camp was 2027 Centennial's [player_tooltip player_id='1604943' first='Ruiz' last='Laborin'].
