Preseason Review - Weiss Wolves

Weiss High School is coming off a strong 2024 season, finishing 8-3 overall and 6-2 in district play. The Wolves enter the new year with a fresh mindset and a revamped approach on both offense and defense. Leading the charge is new head coach Malcolm Hill, who joins Weiss from Prosper High School, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success. With a new formula in place and a motivated roster, the Wolves are looking to build on last season's success and make an even deeper run this year. With a young team, the Wolves believe they can make it happen. He's returning this year with the same determined mindset that fueled his success in 2024. Jaxon excels at reading defenses, making quick decisions, and delivering accurate throws both in the pocket and on the move. His poise under pressure and ability to spread the ball to multiple receivers keep defenses guessing. With his strong arm, leadership skills, and consistent production, Jaxon remains a key piece in Weiss's offensive game plan heading into the new season. Jaxson currently holds North Texas, Houston, SMU ,Texas Tech and UTSA.     Daniel is a speedster in the slot position who can change the momentum of a game in an instant. Committed to North Texas, he brings elite quickness, sharp route running, and the ability to find open space, making him a constant threat in the passing game. With the ball in his hands, Daniel's elusiveness and breakaway speed allow him to turn short gains into big plays. He's a reliable target who can make things happen when the offense needs a spark.     Jahmari is a determined running back looking to make his mark in the Wolves' backfield. With a strong work ethic and a downhill running style, he's ready to add depth and power to the running back room. His vision, balance, and ability to break tackles make him a reliable option in short-yardage situations, while his quickness allows him to find seams and pick up chunk yardage.     Tylan is a wide receiver who showed flashes of big-play potential during last season. Over the offseason, he put in the work, attending numerous camps to refine his route-running, improve his separation, and showcase his playmaking ability. His dedication paid off, earning him an offer from Texas Tech. With his combination of athleticism, hands, and confidence, Tylan is poised to have a breakout year in the Wolves' passing attack.     Tre is a dynamic four-star wide receiver whose game changing talent has drawn offers from powerhouse programs including Houston, Alabama, Maryland, Oklahoma, and more. He combines elite route-running with explosive acceleration, making him a nightmare for defenders in both man and zone coverage. Tre's strong hands and body control allow him to win contested catches, while his ability to create yards after the catch turns routine plays into highlight moments. His presence on the field forces defenses to adjust, opening opportunities for his teammates and setting the tone for the Wolves' passing attack.     Jorian is a playmaking defensive back who was a difference maker for the Wolves last season. He is also committed to UIW. He tallied 80 tackles, 4 interceptions, 2 defensive touchdowns, 6 tackles for loss, and 5 pass breakups a testament to both his physicality and ball hawking instincts. Jorian excels in reading the quarterback's eyes, closing quickly on the ball, and making open field tackles. His versatility allows him to be equally effective in coverage and run support, making him one of the most complete defenders on the Weiss roster.     D'arryeon is a disruptive edge rusher who thrives on creating chaos in the backfield. His explosive first step off the line, paired with strong hand technique, makes him a constant threat to opposing quarterbacks. He plays with relentless energy, setting the edge against the run while also possessing the speed to chase plays down from behind. D'arryeon's combination of athleticism, motor, and physicality gives the Wolves a dangerous presence on the defensive front.     Garrett is a proven playmaker in the secondary whose talent has drawn eight college offers, including SMU, Texas State, and Sam Houston State. He combines speed and fluid footwork to stay tight in coverage, while his timing and physicality make him tough to beat in contested situations. Garrett has a knack for breaking up passes and shutting down his side of the field, giving the Wolves a dependable and dangerous presence in their defensive backfield.     Reagan is an explosive edge rusher in the Class of 2028 who's already turning heads with early offers from Houston, Texas, and UTSA. Young and still developing, he's poised to elevate his game as he matures. With a strong first step, the ability to bend around the edge, and relentless motor, Reagan creates consistent pressure and forces quarterbacks to scramble. His potential ceiling is high expect him to keep improving physically and technically, becoming a foundational piece of the Wolves' defensive front in the seasons ahead.     Kaiden is a dependable defensive back who brings both physicality and consistency to the Wolves' secondary. His quick feet and smooth transitions allow him to stay in phase with receivers, while his disciplined technique makes him difficult to beat over the top. Kaiden reads routes well, reacts quickly to the ball, and isn't afraid to step up in run support. His sure tackling and willingness to mix it up at the line of scrimmage set the tone for physical play. With his competitive drive and steady improvement, Kaiden is expected to play a key role in locking down opposing passing attacks this season.     Noah is a hard-hitting linebacker who made his presence felt last season with 77 tackles. He plays with a high motor and isn't afraid to meet ball carriers head-on, whether between the tackles or in open space.
