We want to take a look at some of the best defensive backs in the state of Mississippi. This is a post that will not concentrate on the top five. Let's take a look at some of the other defensive backs in this class who we do not talk about enough.

[player_tooltip player_id='1706288' first='Lathaan' last='Gavin']

Gavin is a player from Heidelberg who coaches need to know. He is a long prospect who has good speed. We are thinking that Gavin is going to be a safety on the next level. He is one of the guys in this class who we need to take a closer look at this season. He could really see his stock rise. Gavin can cover a lot of range, and he can come up to make sure tackles.

[player_tooltip player_id='1581424' first='Ty' last='Edwards']

Edwards is a defensive back from Grenada who we do not talk about enough. Edwards was a real playmaker last season who made a lot of things happen for his team on defense. He made it very hard for quarterbacks to complete deep passes. We saw Grenada play a lot during last season. This kid was doing a lot of good things on the field. He is able to take back punts on their special team's unit. This kid is very talented and underrated. We do feel like he needs to work on his speed, but his game speed is what really stands out.

[player_tooltip player_id='1611742' first='Des' last='Ball']

Ball is a defensive back from Clarksdale who we like a lot. He is a young man who worked really hard on getting his name out there this summer. He is another player who we will be keeping a close eye on this season. Ball has what it takes, but some coaches may be concerned with his height. We know that Ball can get out there and cover receivers, but we need to get a good confirmed 40-yard dash on him. Do not let any of that be a worry to your ears. This kid can ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='953337' first='Javion' last='Wilson']

Wilson is a player from West Lauderdale who we like. Wilson is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound young man who has a lot of range back there at safety. We do feel like he is a player who is going to have the chance to wake up some college coaches. We are going to have to see some confirmed times on him and see him in 1v1 situations more to determine where we think he could land on the college level. This kid is a beast to keep your eyes on.
