Flex Zone One on One Challenge MVPs and Standouts

The Flex Zone 1v1 Challenge delivered high-level competition and valuable instruction, drawing talent from across the region. From rising middle school stars to college-ready upperclassmen, several athletes rose to the occasion. Here are the top MVPs and standouts from the event.    Barton had an MVP performance, showcasing a strong arm, sharp accuracy and the ability to make accurate throws on the move. Barton showcased poise and athleticism, building off a strong 7v7 showing in College Station recently. An All-District selection who led Benbrook on a deep playoff run in 2024, Barton is also a multi-sport athlete who plays with a swagger. He is a name college programs need to know heading into the fall.     Waylin is a long, athletic corner with a 6-foot frame and he plays with physicality at the line of scrimmage. Barton plays with good leverage, quick hips, and the ability to play through contact. His performance at the Flex Zone Challenge confirmed his upside. He's a prospect college coaches should get eyes on this season.     Patrick displayed a quick release, clean mechanics, and good posture in the pocket. Harris Jr. showed advanced footwork and consistent ball placement, especially when rolling out. He is a developing quarterback who continues to improve his game at each outing that we have seen him attend.     The youngest surprise of the camp. Marinelli is a smooth route runner with reliable hands and has has the ability to compete against stiff competition and win reps. He attacks the football with confidence. As he matures, his skill set will elevate even further.     Houchin showed off his strong arm talent with the ability to drive the ball to the sideline outside the numbers on a rope. Houchin has a sturdy build and a versatile skill set, making him effective on both sides of the ball when he plays in pads. He has the ability to make an impact as a quarterback and safety.     Zion has a compact and powerful build at 5-foot- 190 Lbs. Ayangbile dominated as a running back at a camp designed more to showcase WRs and DBs. He showed strong hands, superb route-running ability and speed to separate from coverage. He also took reps at DB, flashing two-way potential. A high-upside athlete who will gain national attention in the 2029 class in the years to come.     Blythe showed clean mechanics and a quick release. Blythe's timing and footwork are advanced for his age, and he consistently delivered accurate throws during 1v1 reps.     Bradley is a powerful defensive lineman with a quick first step. Bradley plays with great leverage and has a strong lower half. He won reps throughout the day and showcased his disruptive potential in the trenches.     Pope is explosive off the line with crafty route-running skills. He made several acrobatic catches and impressed with his body control and hands. Expect him to be a major contributor for Celina in the coming seasons.     Broussard is a polished receiver who runs sharp routes and stacks defenders early. He consistently created separation and proved to be reliable with his hands. He is a smooth route runner with natural receiver instincts.     Byrd made an impact early in drills, displaying quick feet and fluid hips. On film, he shows late hands and the ability to stretch the field vertically. Byrd's blend of suddenness and big play ability makes him a rising name to know at Frisco Memorial.     Hale was one of the fastest players at the camp. Hale's quick acceleration and gear-shifting ability made him tough to cover. He has reliable hands and ability to create separation was on full display throughout the event.     Brinton plays defensive line during the season but worked as a DB at the Flex Zone Challenge. He showed excellent lateral quickness, strong lower-body balance, and the ability to cover in space. His versatility could make him a fit at outside linebacker or nickel at the next level. He is a potential steal for the right college program.
