Our summer City Series continues with a look at the top wide receivers in the Albuquerque Metro Region entering the 2025 season:

[player_tooltip player_id='1154956' first='Cayl' last='Cox-Liggins'], St. Pius X: Cox-Liggins is 6-foot-3, 155 pounds of athletic dynamite. He can leap to the moon, possesses great hands and runs crisp routes. Eastern New Mexico has offered. Last season he caught 64 passes for 1,112 yards and 12 TD, earning First-Team All-State and All-District honors. Don't forget he's got an outstanding quarterback throwing him the football, so Cox-Liggins could post even better numbers in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='851903' first='Jacob' last='Maldonado'], Cleveland: Maldonado often makes the difficult catch look easy with his elite athleticism. He had 50 receptions for 918 yards and 11 TD as a junior in 2024. Faster than you thought too, as he blazes 100 meters in under 11 seconds. His combination of athleticism, speed and great hands is why New Mexico offered last month following a Lobos camp at University Stadium.

[player_tooltip player_id='1266408' first='Parker' last='Miller'], Cleveland: Miller was Rio Rancho's No. 2 receiver in 2024 but has shown this spring and summer that he's ready for a monster senior season as the Rams No. 1 pass catcher. He's a camp warrior. He ran the 40 in 4.49 seconds in June and has been offered by Eastern New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands. He'll challenge opposing defensive backs this season with his speed and ability to stretch the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='853013' first='Tanner' last='Montano'], La Cueva: Two words most accurately describes Montano: Blazing Speed. Montano is coming off a sensational spring track season in which he won the Class 5A 100-meter title (his personal best in the 100 is 10.63 seconds) AND tied the state record in the long jump. In short, Montano's athleticism is off the charts. He struggled with injuries in 2024 but looks healthy now. Ready for a MONSTER senior season. Don't be surprised if he signs with a FBS program in December or February.

[player_tooltip player_id='1155116' first='Jahari' last='Morehead'], Eldorado: The top task for Eldorado's QB this season is simple: get the ball in space to Morehead, who emerged last season as a dynamic wide receiver, running back and kick returner. Morehead, a rising junior, is exceptionally fast. He ran the 40 in 4.42 seconds at the ENMU camp in Albuquerque in June and has run 100 meters in under 10.9 seconds. Morehead could end up playing three or four different positions for Eldorado, but WR is his most logical spot. Eastern New Mexico has offered.
