<p>Spring and summer are crucial periods for recruitment and development, involving team workouts, spring football practices, 7-on-7 events, showcases, visits, and more. Often, especially in the state of Texas, multiple prospects under the radar go unnoticed due to the quantity of players in the state.</p>   <p>At Prep Redzone, our focus is on uncovering those athletes who deserve recognition. These prospects have the ability to compete at the next level, be it D1, D2, D3, NAIA, or JUCO, showcasing their considerable talents. Here are seven prospects to watch:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1645156' first='Billy' last='Middleton'] is a dual-threat quarterback from Red Oak who demonstrates good athletic ability and composure in the pocket.</p>   <p>Middleton excels in RPOs, the quick passing game, and quarterback-designed runs. Post-snap, he makes quick decisions and releases the ball swiftly during one- to three-step drops, demonstrating solid placement in the short to intermediate levels. He also shows the ability to bait linebackers with his eyes on RPOs. He received his first offer from Coastal Carolina in March.</p>   <p>Henigan, a lefty, possesses good arm strength as he can generate good velocity through his hips. He consistently attacks all levels of the field with solid ball placement. He excels on play-action rollouts, skillfully directing receivers out of traffic. He threw for 3,554 yards, ranking 4th among juniors in the state, with 43 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on a 60% completion rate in 2024. He's also a Punter. </p>   <p>Collins is tough. He's willing to stand in the pocket under pressure, take hits, and deliver the ball with solid placement at all field levels. He can attack the middle of the field and be effective on RPOs. He displays solid pocket mobility and the athleticism to tuck and run. He has been working hard this offseason and has visited several college programs, including Rice, Lamar, and received an offer from East Central.</p>   <p>Stefek is a Pro-Style quarterback who can operate multiple offenses. He has good arm strength and velocity as he can throw across the middle of the field into tight windows, as he has "throwing it on a rope" type of ball. He has a "Russell Wilson moon ball" and enjoys attacking the intermediate and deep levels of the field.</p>   <p>Jenkins displays a quick release on the ball, with his feet syncing with his release point for solid ball placement at short to intermediate ranges. He has the angle freedom to adjust his release point. He's able to throw the football into tight windows and has solid touch to layer the football over second-level defenders. In 2024, he threw for 2,991 yards, 41 touchdowns, and only 5 interceptions.</p>   <p>Maupin possesses the physical and mental toughness, along with solid pocket mobility and post-snap awareness, to evade pressure. He also has the angle freedom to adjust his release point, throw off-platform, or be in an awkward state. Due to his good arm strength and ability to generate velocity, he can hit all levels of the field. He showcases solid ball placement in the red zone, attacking fades, and corner routes. He can attack cover 2 efficiently and is effective off play-action.
