Film Room: 2026 South Suburbs Wide Receivers

During the offseason we will be breaking down the film of all the top prospects from across the state ahead of our massive 2026 rankings update in the upcoming months! Here is a look at some of the wide receivers in the 2026 class in Film Room: 2026 South Suburbs Wide Receivers!    Brown is a two sport star that is also one of the best hoops prospects in 2026. He stands at 6'6" 200 pounds. Smooth route runner that is good on out cuts and uses leverage on shorter routes. Effective on bubble screen and quick comebacks. He runs with power once the ball is in his hands. Fluid pass catcher that shows some downfield ability tracking it in the air and covering ground with his long strides.     Ellis is a 5'10" 155 pound wide out from HF that racked up 39 catches for 806 yards and 9 touchdowns as a junior. The ELITE speed jumps off the tape on almost every play. He has big time speed. Works well out of the slot and has shake at the top of his routes. Blows past defensive backs on the deep ball where he catches it over his shoulder very naturally. Gets in and out of cuts well on short routes and is electric in the open field. Big time deep threat!     Patterson is a 6'3" 190 pound pass catcher that is coming off a season where he recorded 53 catches for 980 yards and 21 touchdowns. Vertical threat with his long strides and smooth route running. He catches the deep ball with soft hands. At his best on slant routes going over the middle. Fluid running that route and accelerates after the catch. Powerful running with the ball on bubble screens. Can high point the ball when needed and finds weak spots in D on scramble plays from his QB.     Coleman is a physically built 6'0" wide receiver that does a great job at winning when the ball is 50/50 in the air. Tracks it well and has good hands. Gets leverage on defensive backs and is crisp getting in and out of breaks. Willing blocker.     Spychalski is a 6'0" pass catcher that is a smooth route runner with strong hands. Makes catches in traffic. Good over the middle. Possession wide receiver and stops on a dime.     Henry is a 6'1" 170 pound wide receiver that is a crafty route runner. Gets in and out of breaks well. Wins 50/50 balls and gets leverage vs DB's on in cutting routes. Physical and boxes out when he needs too. Solid blocker.     Great size at 6'4" 215 pounds. Yarbrough is a physical pass catcher that probably projects best long term as a tight end that can move out to the slot. Good hands in traffic, willing blocker, and has some shake off the line.     Bennett is a strong bodied possession receiver. He boxes out well on catches and has very strong hands. Possession WR that finds weak spots in the defense and can also contribute on special teams.     Mahoney is a big 6'3" wide out that wins catches in the air. That included an insane one handed grab on his tap. Tracks it well and goes after them aggressively in 50/50 situations. Snatches with his hands on slant routes and is effective going over the middle with his toughness.
